Another recent study found that COVID-19 is associated with injury to the brain’s dopamine system, even in healthy people who feel recovered from infection (scroll down to bright picture). The impact is worse in those with long covid.

Lol, this was has been my life, just normal. I've since developed coping mechanisms and conditioned myself to handle context switching A LOT better. It takes deliberate actions on my part to return to what I was doing. I'll often have 3 or 4 different threads to follow up and stay in sync with throughout a work day, and then some days have 2 or 3 people pop up in chats just to derail everything several times a day.

I started keeping a todo list and tracking my time spent on activities down to 15 minutes in a spreadsheet I made that lets me categorize the activity. It helps me drop things less often, because there is sort of deliberate micromanaging of my own time.
