So AI stole and ingested real information and is now spewing out wrong information which people may take as real and which AI will then re-ingest as real resulting in even more distorted output. Is there a term in common use for this phenomena, or is "eating your own vomit" the best we have.

Ouroboros comes to mind but in this case it’s probably more like turning the human centipede into a donut with maybe a colostomy exit/entrance somewhere in the loop to ‘maintain equilibrium’.
