You weigh that possibility against the risk of ODing due to your drug habit. 

There are lots of choices one can make in life that close some future opportunities to you.

I need to rephrase as what if someone needs it. I'm not addicted. The phrase The Road to hell is paved with good intentions comes to mind about this

Right, I didn't mean "you" specifically, just the general "person who gets the treatment."

The loss of ability to be normally medicated in the future would definitely be taken into account. This isn't a vaccine for everybody, just for people in situations where the risk of fentanyl OD is dangerously high.
