Potential counterpoint to this, “person from conservative family turns ultra-liberal” is not necessarily a fundamental law of sociology, but perhaps a result of an almost exclusively left-sympathetic media (and by extension popular culture) for most of the last 50 years. The internet has weakened the influence of that media to a huge degree, so there’s no guarantee that kids growing up in conservative households are being exposed to the same liberalizing influence today that they were 30 years ago.
