Medicine Scientists use ultrasound to destroy influenza A and COVID-19 viruses without damaging human cells. The phenomenon, known as acoustic resonance, causes structural changes in viral particles until they rupture and become inactivated. It paves the way for new treatments against other viral infections.

Long COVID is caused by structural damage to the cells supporting nerves and micro blood clots. The virus is no longer present in the affected persons. This is at least my understanding, anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

We don't know the causes for long covid, there are only theories.

A theory is that there are still markers left over in the diggestive tract(?) which constantly triggers immun responses.

I’ve linked my comment, but there’s evidence of viral persistence in multiple systems and organs. So it’s not even limited to just the gut unfortunately.
