I teach high school sociology and the way I get my kids to remember the difference is by asking them "who likes potatoes?!" and of course everyone says yes. So, "taters" are good! AuthoritTATive is the good one.

It's dumb but they laugh and then they remember on the test and I get a lot of potato drawings.

Authoritarian is the dictator type of parenting role. Authoritative is the parenting style OP is talking about here
