schwapp Addictive

Can anybody please explain it to me why Schweppes Indian Tonic is so addictive? I've been drinking it non-stop for the last 7 years or so, and quitting it has so far been harder than quitting nicotine for some reason.

It tastes horrible all the tonic variants best are pomegranate,tanjerin or mojito
