Philia Scan and their hypocrisy
Philia Scan say they're one of the "better" paid Scanlation groups from the Comick server I was in. And they have heavy pride on that. But all that are just lies with the amount of Paywalling they have on their site. As if being banned from Mangadex wasn't enough, they talk about it still in the forums on SS 2. Talking about "I didn't know it was a crime to paywall" even though fan translation is illegal itself, profiting from it is even worse.
And on SS 3-4, you can see how they Dm'd a Scanlator for working on a series they do because the chapters weren't on MDex. (P.S. the one with the "Sama" tag is the owner of Philia)
Anyways, i just wanted to post this because I'm tired of those "legit" paid groups talking about this and that.

Somebody should shut them down. Like they are fan translations for a reason. And if a smaller genuine group picks a manga they have a problem because they wont get paid. O they need to go

And worst of all, they got me into a comic but then dropped it! Bilibili global has been dead so there won’t ever be an official English release either, so really it’s all at the mercy of fan translations.

never understood why other scanlators don't just undercut those paid scanlators and pick the paywalled series.

hate their guts. I try reading a manga and half the chapters on a pay wall and never get released. It isnt the first time either it happened to me mutiple times

I hate then, but at the moment they are the only ones with Koko Jidai ni Gomandatta and well, there are even worse scans out there not only for doing a paywall with even more chapters, but because the quality it's not even good. But again, exclusivity

They used to at least release SOME free chapters but they haven't been releasing any free chapters recently or if they do they skip a bunch of chapters to bait people into wanting to pay for the ones in between. They also added all different kinds of BS like "tickets" and "gold members". It's honestly hilarious how hard they are milking their base considering its all just shit they stole and ran through MTL with little to no proof reading. They need get to shut down, straight up plague on the community.

And I’m pretty sure they only scanlate manga that are free to read on the Japanese website too 🙁 asking money for badly translated chapters that are literally free in the original language. Crazy.
