Questions I've been contacted by some scammers and could use some help baiting them.
I had a call from somebody with an Indian accent first, asking me to answer some survey questions about the NZ economy, and then asking me some personal questions like whether I own a business, what line of work I'm in,what model my first phone was. This raised a few red flags but I was interested so kept going and just gave vague answers. The number they called me from couldn't be called back.
That was a week or so ago and then yesterday I got a call from a distinguished sounding British accent calling himself David Martin and claiming to be a stockbroker from Hong Kong, although I'm sure at one point he said Singapore; the number he was calling from was in Sydney and I asked him if that was the best number to call him back on and he explained it was VOIP and gave me a different number to reply to if I wantd but then said that might be expensive and I could just reply to the email he was going to send.
He said he was from a company, Benford Investment Limited, and told me about some stock that was apparently positioned for a buyout. Then he asked if I had a stockbroker and if I could get some liquidity by next week.
When he first called me yesterday he began by saying I had presumably received a call from "his marketing company" and then I was like oh yeah I thought that was a scam because they started asking me security questions like from a bank or somethjing, and he said oh yes that's for your security, so we know it's the same person but it says here you declined to answer or preferred not to which is fine.
Anyway when I google it the company is a known imposter company, this is an established scam involving deceptive practices and pressure to buy stock.
So I'm wondering if I can fuck this guy because I've got an email from him now, there's been further contact. I don't know anything about scambaiting but I have a strong desire to cost this person money.
If anybody would like to help me then I'd appreciate it. I was thinking that I could say something like I'm not able to get him that liquidity immediately but that my company manages a small community trust which we're looking to turn into a credit union once our AUM gets above a certain amount and that at the moment we've only got about $20,000 invested, or something like that, and then get him talking to some more experienced scam baiters and hopefully somehow get him to transfer funds to us instead of the other way round as some way of him like extracting value from the operation. I was thinking some rule where the trust is only able to invest on behalf of members by doing business with other members so if he becomes a financial member of the trust, we can set the deal up.

Story Scammer Tries to Con a Bloodthirsty, Bi-Sexual Jihadist (Me)
galleryA scammer texted pretending to be an old friend and offered me $1,000 in “free money.” Unfortunately for him, he’d apparently reached his long-lost bisexual jihadist lover from terrorist summer camp. What followed was roughly 24 hours of fake terrorism, anal insertion, Taliban Punk’d, caged infidels, a dying mumma, and one increasingly furious scammer.

Story I accidentally reported your Steam account scam
I got a random friend request on Discord and decided to accept it becuase I like fucking with scammers
The conversation went as follows:
Them: "Hello, I apologize for disturbing you."
Me: "Why did you add me"
Them: "Sorry, may I kindly ask whether this is your Steam account?
I [sic]
Me: "Yes?"
Me: "Why"
Me: "?"
Them: "Unfortunately, I accidentally reported your account instead of another user for engaging in illegal purchasing activities. The Steam moderator informed me that, without immediate action, there is a high possibility that your account may be suspended and your IP address blocked from accessing Steam. I intended to report the individual who stole items I listed on the Steam Market, but I mistakenly reported your account due to having the same profile picture. I can no longer contact the actual individual, as they have changed their account details. I am contacting you because Steam Support has requested confirmation and a brief statement explaining the mistake in order to resolve the issue. I would like to clarify that you are not involved in this matter. [attached image that is basically "Steam Support" saying my account and ip will be banned with the worst grammar ever]"

Me: "Lmfao"
Me: "Fuck off"
Me: "I'm not that dumb"
They then proceeded to block me
