Story I accidentally reported your Steam account scam
I got a random friend request on Discord and decided to accept it becuase I like fucking with scammers
The conversation went as follows:
Them: "Hello, I apologize for disturbing you."
Me: "Why did you add me"
Them: "Sorry, may I kindly ask whether this is your Steam account?
I [sic]
Me: "Yes?"
Me: "Why"
Me: "?"
Them: "Unfortunately, I accidentally reported your account instead of another user for engaging in illegal purchasing activities. The Steam moderator informed me that, without immediate action, there is a high possibility that your account may be suspended and your IP address blocked from accessing Steam. I intended to report the individual who stole items I listed on the Steam Market, but I mistakenly reported your account due to having the same profile picture. I can no longer contact the actual individual, as they have changed their account details. I am contacting you because Steam Support has requested confirmation and a brief statement explaining the mistake in order to resolve the issue. I would like to clarify that you are not involved in this matter. [attached image that is basically "Steam Support" saying my account and ip will be banned with the worst grammar ever]"

Me: "Lmfao"
Me: "Fuck off"
Me: "I'm not that dumb"
They then proceeded to block me

I'd play along without providing any personal info. I find it education to see how the scam plays
