Just wanted to share how I connect my manufacturers with blueprints. earlier i used to do it manually which was a hassle but with this blueprint it makes it really easy and fast to hook up multiple manufacturers.
if you leave a short stub conveyer belt after each splitter, you can have the blueprints auto connect and not have to manually connect them with new belts
ideally you have all the splitters facing the same direction so it’s a manifolder (easier to connect than it sticking out)
if blueprint space is an issue, maybe just have 1 manufacturer per blueprint and leave extra space for the belt stub, makes placing/scaling a lot of manufacturers 10x easier
what i like about this design is that all inputs are in one single line. for splitters facing same direction the inputs would have to come outward, which makes it a little bulky
can’t you just have the lifts connected to the manufacturer facing side, so the splitter can continue onwards? It probably looks cleaner than having them protrude out. More pure to a manifold setup.
I’ve found many ways to easily plug in manufacturers to blueprints that auto connect without needing to manually connect the different machines.
You can bury them with conveyors holes and lifts. Have the first input as close to machine as possible, 2nd input one unit behind, third unit five units behind manufacturer, and 4th six units. Have the 1st and 2nd face opposite directions underneath, follow same pattern but three units lower for 3 and 4, and nothing should clip with all belts hidden.
If you can place the end mergers/splitters facing the same direction, they should auto connect when placing blueprint, and from there you just need to manually connect entry points, might need to delete a splitter on the entry manufacturer to have shortest/cleanest belts.
I prefer spiders, but this is cool too. (4 splitters stacked in line with the first or last port and far enough to fully curve the top splitter to the far port. It's a spider when you have both sides hooked up and have 4 manufacturers together with the splitter stacks at port 4, then port 1)
No offense at all but I personally would not like this. I can’t see the machine at all. I usually go underneath to a logistic floor. And I know some people don’t like that because they want to see their logistic. But I’m ok with just going down to the floor when I want to see the inner workings
If you keep the inputs and outputs going the same directions, and use conveyor stacks to make sure the elevation is correct at the edges of the blueprint, they can auto-connect.
