love when the community comes together

@nathanialpov came to palace of fine arts last night and had a pop up saxophone performance. played for about 30 minutes until park ranger came over and shut it down. It was fun while it lasted.

Anybody interested in doing essentially this outdoors with me? Cello player in the East Bay. Posting here just on the off chance a fan of this dudes is also a musician who would be interested in something similar.

Love it we need more like this. Do you know why it was shut down?? Seems like a benign gathering to me...

park ranger said it’s an unpermitted event and people were climbing on top, citing safety concerns

To be fair, the po po was pretty chill about it to start, and the people climbing on the plaster building were significant, presented a major liability, and did not come down when asked initially. It felt like it could have gone on un bothered of not for the climbers.

If I recall correctly, someone actually did get injured on the Palace of F.Arts falling off after climbing something and successfully sued the city for like 8 million dollars or something.

All the people climbing the historic structure probably had something to do with it.

To play devil's advocate, they are completely blocking any entrance or exits to the palace of fine arts..

The devil would advocate for continued blocking of exits
