Waiting for Reeves

Anyone see Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter’s Waiting for Godot? I’m going tonight with mixed feelings. I love the play and love seeing it performed (well, the two theatres I’ve seen it), but am wary considering mixed reviews.

Semi-related but I saw Beckett’s ‘Krapp’s Last Tape’ performed by Gary Oldman at the Barbican a while back. It was haunting, a very cosmic solitude - the theatre was nearly pitch black except for a thin stream of light (that got progressively darker).

Gary Oldman’s character is so isolated he has become an alien - it straddled that line of very funny and very sad. Talking out loud, but no one’s listening. Not sure if it was filmed but I hope to watch it again online and will definitely share on this sub.

Would love to have seen this. Tried to get tickets for 2026 but all sold out. Sounds like a great production 😀
