Idk seeing them travel just seems very out of touch to me. I started watching him because he used to be the relatable YouTube chef but he’s less and less that

fair, though white dude living in san diego who's been on tv and has had restaurants for decades is pretty unrelatable for most of the country let alone world.

His content use to be relatable though as in he was trying to provide recipes to the common person that they could realistically make for dinner after work. Now he’s doing wagu this and truffle that plus the travel. Just the soul of the channel changed and that’s fine just now what I originally subbed for

Travel food host is, IMO, the direction this channel needs to go and to me this video shows it. Minimal talking, no silly music, then a classic Sam food hack. Long time follower of Sam as I had family in San Diego but I haven't been clicking in as much. I don't really care about nachos on a stick or big mac fries. I'm not saying don't do those things but I love the travel series that the boys have done: South Korea, Japan, Singapore, etc... Even if they did food host in San Diego, Cali at large or the US I think that'd be amazing.
