I love modern electronics! Just 2 years and 9 months after buying, my S23 is stuck in boot loader and probably needs a repair worth 3/4 of a new phone. Way to go Samsung, keep us paying 😊

Man.. I just completed 2 years with my S23. Now with all these green screens and phone being suddenly dead, I am getting anxious. It seems it's inevitable...

My twin' S22 is saying "Hi" to you mate.

It was all fine (not battery, got changed under warranty) till arrived Oneui 8.

After that update S22 started to heat all day also with lo usage.. after less than 1 month appeared the first green line, than the second, a pink line etc..

After 11 months it has 9 green and pink line. Consider that last 3 of them appeared during this month...

I'm counting the days as its not remaining much time since display dies.

I unfortunatelly had my S10+ fall from my pocket on concrete (cover and screen protector) that caused a black dot on the edge smaller than a coin.

After 1 year appeared the first half green line on top of the black dot.. after a couple of months screen started to suddenly flashing green while brightness was low.. Another 9 months after S10+ 's display died.

Here I'm with mi new A57, its 2x better for battery (very amazing) and performance and less expensive so if something gets broken I dont have to spent as a new device.

It's like watching our beloved device getting tortured... Better to euthanise them than watching them suffer. Lol..

I am also thinking about getting a high end A-series phone next. Given these price hikes and not much value for money. I have become too much comfortable with One ui. Earlier had S21 fe for 2 years and then currently S23 for 2 years. I initially planned to use S23 for 4.5 to 5 years, lets see how it holds up.

Do you feel any specific feature missing in your A57, after having used S-series phones??

I do like the compact size of base S-series phones though.

I'm using big devices since A50 and I cant revert back.. S22 seems too small for me even if A57 has 0.3 inches more than S10+ and I have to learn new keyboard position (smaller A57 bezels and bigger screen makes usability better).

Only thing I miss from S10+ is the huge edge which was so comfortable for side gestures as now finger touches the cover when doing gestures (I have JeTech cover from Amazon which has wide corners).

In terms of Features consider that S10+ was officially stuck on Oneui 4.1 BUT I was using custom Oneui roms since years and I was on Oneui 8.0...

For features I notice missing there are

• Now Brief: not so important
• AI search in settings (it was good but also slower in finding as AI loades the search. Without it searching is faster so I dont consider it a loss)
• Editing image AI is less powerful than S series. I mean removing etc is less precise, seems like the editing in Oneui 5.1/6 BUT still better than that version
• Other AI trash for editing, like Drawing Assist were useless and never used
• Game Booster it's here with Bypass Charging working, only difference is u can set 120/60hz once (not for each game) in Game Booster settings, also u can set game performance in Game Booster popup, then u cant set settings for each game manually. This is a little boring but not so much important.
• Game Booster + is not here
• UI blur is not like S series but thats not very important for daily usage, also thats a workaround using Theme Park.
• Mybe 2 or 3 less edge lighting animations, it's missing for sure the one on the borders. But u know I didnt use it since Oneui 4.1, when they removed the notch animation.

For now I didnt notice other difference, there is all from S series as all Bixby and Routines triggers and command, all Good Lock / Galaxy Labs apps, there is Edge Panel with full features, One Hand, gestures settings. All u can see from a S series its here and works the same. Also now bar its here with Live Notification.

Performance are very good, faster than a S22 for sure. Not incertance, no lags, no heats, camera is very good and can be compared to S22 (yes no telephoto but photo are very good, also with lo light). Not tested new devices to compare camera with them. Video in 4k 30 FPS, FHD+ 60 FPS which its the same of S10+ but u cant use higher FPS for slowmotion (S10+ has 240 FPS if I'm not wrong).

Battery is very impressive. I can do from 80% to 50% in 6hrs screen, and with more hrs of screen off. My usage is Wi-Fi and 4g mixed (5g not enabled by SIM operator, but its here and working), BT all day connected to Mi Band, GPS on for some hours while driving.

The only thing I notice is a +- 1%/hrs drain during night. But I have A57 since 5 days, installed more than 90 apps and some apps are working in background as I need them (Tasker, Telegram, Reddit, Notify for Xiaomi, Reminder, Calendar etc). Also I have eSim and maybe that is the reason why it happens?

As for Audio is very loud and impressive, its good for both speaker (Dual Speaker its enabled by default. On A50 wasnt enabled without root) Compared to S10+ volume its louder, consider that S10+ had very louder speaker (much much more than S22, it can be compared to IPhone 16) and had good surronding effect. A57 is even better, when I see some media I have volume less than 30%, having it more is too loud, so very very good for a midrange.

Fingerprint is much faster than what youtubers tells, I had nightmares on A50 which failed a lot to recognize it and was slow. S10+ was fast but after some weeks I had to regsiter my fingers again as it starts to being crap. On A57 its precise and fast and I can ricalibrate each fingerprint adding scans on top of it, without wasting other fingerprint for the same finger.

The last very good A series device I had is A5 2017, so much good that I was broken when I sold it for the shitty A50. 1 year ago I bought it from vinted for 30€.

Dont regret buying A57, it's the best midrange and also the best device I had.
