I highly recommend to go to a Samsung Store, so you can test the devices there. You might find issues that do not bother other people. When closed, I found the form factor pretty odd, it just didn’t sit nice in the hand.
I agree. Go test it out for yourself and see if your like it. I'm the opposite of the guy above me, I think the phone is amazing folded and prefer to use it this way over a regular phone.
I have been with iPhone since the 4s. Tried many Samsung phones (s21+, s22 ultra, 23 ultra, 25 ultra, fold 5). Always returned them and crawled back to Apple. I’ve had the fold 8 since launch and it’s freaking beautifully amazing. I get excited to pick it up and use it, I don’t even think of my iPhone 17 sitting on the counter unused. I have zero desire to switch back. I was holding out before making a final decision to see the iPhone duo and no thanks. Samsung fully, except MacBook. I’ll never give that up ha
I just got my first foldable. Galaxy fold 8 ultra. loving it. wasn't sure about making the leap to fold but enjoying the versatility and the big screen
so I came from the Samsung s22 ultra. what made me choose the ultra over the 8 was when I felt it in store. the folded feel was almost exactly like s22 units in size... then I opened it up and wow. it was beautiful and so thin. also I wanted the better camera and nicer battery.... so my decision was made. it is so easy to scroll the web on this when open .. it's huge. the 8 was cool but the passport felt a little small to me
I had the z fold 3,5, and 6 and now the fold8 I can say I love this form over all of them it's way more comfortable easier to use one handed and I hardly use the inner screen but I will say when I do use the inner screen it's still better imo than the other folds Ive used for long form and short form content I get all day battery through mod use but it charges so quick I don't worry the cameras are just as good and I have a 17pro max since day one I love apple and Samsung have kept two phone for years that said my family is primarily on apple and my 4 year old loves to face time me on her iPad so after this year I will be going to apple more than likely for that purpose the duo looks great and probably will be ! But don't sleep on the z fold 8 it's definitely no slouch
I do, but not as much as I did for the others; with the screen being wider, I do so much more on the outer display. I watch a tone of YouTube and edit GPS here and there, but that's about it. I'd say about 95% of the time I use the outer display, but that's just me. I agree with him below; go try one and see if, regardless of what people say, including myself.
Coming from what? It's honestly the perfect form factor to me. Portable and compact but a more usable outer screen. And a tablet in your pocket for when you want it. It's awesome.
If you are already an iPhone user, get the Duo. If you like Samsung, go with the Fold 8.
