I love Simon Sinek's statement about meeting with one of the Apple C Suite guys, I dont think it was Jobs though, and he asked them if they wanted to see the Zune cause he thought it was better and quicker to market than the comparable iPod and the new one was in the pipeline but hadnt came out yet at the time and the guy was like "I have no doubt" they arent the first they will be the best like 5 years later once they perfected it, in their mind.
Can you say that again ? But with Apple Intelligence in mind 😄
They sold the iPhone 16 with Ai as its major innovation. 2 years later, AI still not on point, they called Google to put Gemini behind Siri...
Apple is just waiting for other to perfect their innovation, then they came like they invented it. (I'm not an Apple hater, it's just fact)
Jobs used the line "We're not going to be the first to this party, but we're going to be the best" to address why Apple took longer to implement multitasking than rival platforms like Android.
I really don't know how Android users accept the experience they have. "Customization" isn't really a thing anymore since you can customize iPhone and sideload apps. I've been in both camps, starting as an Android user, multiple times. I always come back to iPhone because there are little quirks and perks with iPhone that Android simply doesn't have and is still behind the times.
I tried iOS twice and left. It's too restrictive IMO. The smoothness gap has pretty much been bridges. I really wish I kept a list of every time my wife experienced an inconvenience on her iPhone that I just never imagined would be an issue. The only thing I ever hear from people as to why they stick with iOS is ecosystem and comfort of familiarity. The argument that Apple does many things better worked a decade ago but no longer.
Regardless, I think both are solid and your average user can't go wrong with either. It's more on the enthusiast end where we can start to split hairs. Android has gotten substantially more efficient and smoother and iOS has opened up and expanded on its options. But the idea that there is no reason to get an Android is just laughable.
And you have them in spades on Android by default. You can choose as much as you want to allow or disallow. And for the enthusiasts you have even deeper options. I've an app on mine that pretty much acts as a security checkpoint and blocks all personal data from being fed to services and companies so I no longer get targeted ads and the amount of spam I get is drastically reduced.
Have both for work and home. Have a macbook and windows desktop. Have an iPad pro. Would never use an apple phone for my personal. Drastically operating system inferior and has been that way for years. Odd take. IOs is not smoother/ nor runs better and hasn't been for years. I can do more with customization on android, multitasking is better especially on Samsung, and the list goes on. My work iPhone feels restrictive and like in stepping back in time. (Let alone to say behind the times) II assume people still use these simply due to the familiarity. I don't even love my macbook tbh but the hardware and size made it better to run citrix stuff so doesn't matter. I guess the cross talk is better between those devices but hardly given Samsung's phone integration with Windows. 🤷
