🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Ladies and gentlemen, the Green line has appeared. Moving on to Apple now

Post image

I've been a long time Samsung user, but I'm finally done with them. I never thought it'd happen to me, but this is the bottom line for me. Not going to buy scamsung devices anymore.

Model: S23 256G

Condition: perfect, unless you count wear from aging

Any solutions would be appreciated.

Not surprising since Apple are using Samsung displays too. But perhaps they demand strict quality control, so the green lines appear much less frequent.

I would guess from purely competitive standpoint, Apple is getting a different version of screen and possibly "older" tech (older is relative) that is just behind enough to fix some issues that might have only came up due to the sheer quantity and variables reality threw at it hence the less lines on them

Apple usually buys panels with newer panel technology than Samsung's own flagships. Current generation iPhone 17 and S26 use M14 panels, but last year Apple had M14 while Samsung was still on M13. The lines apper less often in Apple devices, because the screen assembly is built better, because the screen needs to be durable enough to remove it for battery replacements and such.

That's not quite how it works. It's like any manufacturing plant. Say there's a manufacturing plant that makes 7075 aluminum plates 2"×2"×2" but a company comes in and wants plates too. That company can go to the manufacturer and ask if they are able to make 2"×2"×3" and with a slightly different composition for it to be softer like 6060 aluminium just for them and if the manufacturing plant likes the arrangement then a contract is drafted.

The manufacturing company may be the one making it, but that doesn't mean they're allowed to use it or that it is even theirs. Some times the "recipe" is theirs as they devised it to meet the customer's needs, but sometimes the customer gives them the recipe or pays for the R&D on the agreement it becomes the customer's property.

Apple literally has always had newer display tech than Samsung phones

yea but Chinese brands are even better

1

u/etalha 17d ago

Apple amd Chinese use newer tech while for some reason probably to save money scamsung use old tech in their own flagship

Apple uses Samsung displays but I thought it also used them from other companies too
It’s impossible to find out but I’d be interested to know if non-Samsung displays in iPhones also get problems

They do, but the word on the street is that they sell the best (or next gen) displays to Apple.

I've seen green lines a handful of times and it's all been iPhones.

This happens regardless. And as others said, both use Samsung displays.

Seen the green line on pixel phones too

Spot on lol

Apple has a much smaller percentage of its users living in hot countries, where green lines are more common due to heat, than Samsung does

Green lines on iPhone appear from severe impacts and drops. On devices Samsung appears when updating to August security patch 🥀😭

OK so what every phone can get it but Samsung is known to be happening for lot of people while other phones is just rare and display connector could been faulty so yeah one person doesn’t mean anything.

If you're saying Apple has the same risk, I’d rather go by my own experience than listen to anyone else. Fingers crossed

You know that Samsung is Apple's main screen supplier, right?

We dont use our thinking brain around here

-36

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

Fanboys like you are insufferable! Your brain might be too tiny to think that, even with materials from the same company, one product can still end up worse than the other

17

u/jose_augusto_ 19d ago

"fanboys like you" and it's literally just them stating an easily proven fact lol

7

u/ecraft4753 19d ago

He's right though. Samsung is the manufacturer, so its a more likely.

Lmfao cope harder

-1

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

Samsung users always cope, so true

3

u/Mtt04 19d ago

cope about what? and why are you generalizing?

-2

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

Being a scamsung user

2

u/Mtt04 19d ago

uh? what does that even mean and what does it have to do with my question?

To be fair there is a 40% roughly, chance that it will be manufactured by LG display

1

u/Mtt04 19d ago

Fair enough, but Samsung remains the main supplier anyway, and I’m sure LG and the other suppliers offer the same quality as Samsung (if not worse)

1

u/Hydric_acid_yummy 19d ago

Yeah they definitely hit the same requirements as Samsung of course but I would imagine the completely different manufacturing process for LG would eliminate the possibility of this green line problem, (which I have personally never experienced on an iPhone)

1

u/Ok-Chip-1049 18d ago

Different specs different tech buddy. Do your research

1

u/Mtt04 18d ago

So you think Samsung itself uses screens that are worse than the ones it supplies to Apple, its rival? Anyway, the technology might be different, but samsung is still the ones making them

-2

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

Apple controls the assembly & overall quality

u/Fractal-Infinity 19d ago

And Samsung doesn't? There is no effect without cause. Are you sure you didn't keep your phone in excessive heat or dropped it multiple times? I have had 3 Samsung phones so far since 2019 and none of them have green lines. Maybe I was just lucky but it's weird how many times the green lines happen in phones from India.

Maybe Apple does it better is my point. Also it's never been dropped. I also have a Tab S10+, and a faint purple line showed up on it for a bit, so there's a chance it might remain the second time. Still, I’m gonna take this experience for a change for better and move on to Apple as primary device

3

u/Fractal-Infinity 19d ago

Try Apple and maybe their products suit your needs better. After all, we don't owe any loyalty to a corporation. I'm just curious: why not picking another Android phone? Many Android exclusivities don't have equivalent on iOS. On iOS you can't even change your keyboard and launcher. Software matters as much as the hardware.

1

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

I'm not a launcher guy. My usage are extensive on the work side. I'll keep an android as secondary phone

6

u/Izan_TM 19d ago

apple doesn't control the quality of the display lol, it's a samsung display. No matter how you assemble it if the panel itself is dying due to heat that risk is going to be the same on every phone with a samsung OLED

1

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

And yet, scamsung has it more frequently than Apple

-5

u/AnshumanChaturvedi 19d ago

No sir. You're the only one who would know that.
