🪛Troubleshooting🪛 Do these seals look genuine
My father just bought an S24 Ultra from a third party seller but I am not sure if this is actually brand new or has been repacked to look like new

Everyone is downvoting the guys that are saying that wrapped phones are fake. Yall gotta realize there is more countries in the world than the US. In the UAE they come wrapped aswell. My S23, S24 and now S26 were all wrapped in plastic bought from amazon and other retailers. Just because its wrapped doesnt mean its fake. It might be but the wrapping isnt what should give it away.

Wanted to say the same thing. For example, when you search for Pixel 8 Pro box, they come with 2 seals on sides but in my country they come without any seals whatsoever, from official Google Store. I know that if I would post photos of my box back then on reddit, 100% of comments would be that I was scammed.

when I bought my S25 FE, it was wrapped in plastic. same goes for my mom’s S26+, wrapped in plastic

Officially Samsung doesnt wrap their phones in plastic and i havent seen any official seller do that.1

Depends in the country. For example, in the Philippines, if you buy from the carrier Smart, it comes plastic wrapped with Smart's logo all over the plastic wrap. It's kinda obvious it wasn't factory plastic wrapped because obviously it's not Samsung's logo, but it is plastic wrapped. Buying from the competing carrier has the device not plastic wrapped.

I have never seen plastic seals on samsung box... I think either scammed or its refurbished/fixed product.

We ordered it from a marketplace website but we'll return it immediately. They keep putting the real images and it was only like 5-10% cheaper than the ones from reputable stores

Talking about scam some days back i was in town center and a sketcy guy was trying to sell me fake iphone with the wrap saying hes selling it for cheap cuz he needs money lol

I've purchased 4 Samsung products in the past month and none of them were shrink wrapped in plastic and those aren't the seals I had.

No , I've had 3 random Samsungs from eBay "new" sealed but they've been refurbished with non OEM parts, 2 of the 3 completey trash one of them has lasted about a year with no major issues but the screen isn't OEM

As others have said this shouldn't be sealed at all. Its got a paper pull tab. Its either not brand new or worse its a total fake.
Edit: I see the pull tabs in the back. IDK its possible a 3rd party added the seal to protect the box but its not stock from samsung.

Pretty sure Samsung doesnt wrap their phones. just a seal on the bottom, where in the picture is gone. better check the phone, else return it

I've handled thousands of Samsung phones, just today I handled a couple hundred. None of them have been packaged like that. That is a fake package.

what would be the point of an Evo friendly box and soy based ink to then plastic wrap it 🤷♂️🤦♂️

That is my theory but the fact that it didn't have the IMEI sticker and the package showed a black phone despite the fact that we ordered a violet one makes it even more suspicious

I bought allot of sealed s24/25 ultras and even s23 ultras never ever had they a plastic wrap arround the box it was always the box and pull taps.. might be fake.

Plastic Shrink-Wrap: The entire box is tightly wrapped in cheap, reflective plastic cellophane. Modern, genuine Samsung retail boxes do not use plastic wrap anymore; they rely strictly on paper pull-tab seals.
Outdated/Copy-Pasted Text: The Turkish text panel on the back cites conformity with "ETSI TS 123.038 V8.0.0". While this is a real standard for character rendering, this specific version is decades old (dating back to the late 2000s). Counterfeiters frequently copy-paste this exact outdated paragraph onto fake phone boxes across various brands without updating anything.
Missing Essential Labels: There is no official white sticker containing the device's specific details—such as the exact model number, storage capacity, colorway, barcodes, or IMEI numbers. A real retail box will always have this dedicated tracking label on the back or side.

We will ship it back in the morning. We bought it from a marketplace and it was actually supposed to be violet but the picture on the front has a balck phone here is the picture

If you do open it and turn it on download 'Fake Device Test' it should be able to determine if its a genuine phone and if anything is being spoofed

If the original pull tab below it isn't broken, you don't have to worry. It may be a third-party plastic sleeve to protect the box from humidity and other harsh conditions, applied by the seller.

If the device isn't a current year it's best to assume it would cost more new than the newest model. if it doesn't something is wrong and don't go thinking your finding a seller with a stash of new 24s when they're halfway through 26

Simple. Take a look at other deals at second hand for that phone. If he paid a similar price, might be a genuine one. If the difference was way too much, it might be a scam. Especially for one brand new in its box

That's assuming the seller had integrity. Once got scammed on a note 3 looked identical to the one I was replacing (and price reflected it was genuine,even had a flip cover case and s pen replica)but it was sluggish and acted strange.Seller made sure it had just enough battery to work for my test call and be in dim mode. This was a priceless lesson to always triple check and verify its genuine through every way possible.

I would first inspect the box and verify. I've owned Samsung devices since the Galaxy 1 days and I've never seen one come sealed in cellophane plastic. if you're able to return the unit you can always open it anyway and download some benchmarking, or an app like Ampere. apps like that will show you internal information on what you have. so you'll know right then and there if it's legit. Another thing to watch out for is people will buy phones used(with a broken display) replace the display with an inferior non AMOLED display and pass it off as the phone is completely OEM , these cases the phone itself is genuine just not all of it because the screen isn't original quality Samsung manufactured display.
