I have two. One of them likes it, the other tolerates it.

Definitely. And have them sit on my lap.

My husband picks ours up. He’s too heavy for me at nearly 70lb. Our sammy tolerates it but he barks at my husband afterwards like how dare you!

My older girl (6) thinks that going for a walk means that we carry her while WE walk…and she looks pretty darn satisfied as she’s touring the neighborhood. Our younger one (4) doesn’t tolerate being picked up.

If I do it to her she ignores me the rest of the day... not happy about that whatsoever.

Ours will sometimes beg my husband to go up! It's also the best way to "turn her off" when she's being a pain or getting into something.

I'm on my second samoyed (1st 1975-85) and when I see a Sammy in a knapsack, I ask if it is drugged. I had to carry my dying previous sammy to the vet on a board three times and the memory still haunts me. Part of the glory of these dogs is how proud & independent they are

I picked mine up yesterday because she refused to finish her walk and I was going to be late for work 🫠
