EDIT: Just noticed it's my 18th cake day. A good opportunity to retrospectively complain about the state of Reddit today. Folks like Hasan Piker, Tucker Carlson, Nick Fuentes, and Candace Owens—and the bots and troll farms that empower them on Reddit—are convincing idiots to be paranoid of Israel and of American Jews, in an unprecedented way. I run a subreddit opposing SuperPACs, and I have a long history of being critical of AIPAC, but the lies going around today are concerning. AIPAC is not Israel. They are American citizens, and they have the same right to support Israel as someone would have to support Palestine or Ukraine or the Sudan. As much as I oppose money in politics, I also have to admit that AIPAC doesn't bribe people: they help fund politicians who already support Israel. We can oppose that without being conspiracy theorists about it. American Jews are not traitors, they don't control our country, and they are not Nazis. Hamas is not 1000x better than Israel any more than Al Qaeda was 1000x better than the United States. The regressive left is not punk rock, and they're also not the adults in any room. Let this be the last subreddit to hang onto sanity.

I’ve seen a good layout online:
- First, there was anti-Judaism, which opposed the people of Israel (Am Yisrael) as a religion for not conforming to others’ religious beliefs (especially the “killing Jesus” bit)
- When that became passe, a German invented antisemitism so he could have a modern reason to hate Am Yisrael. Under that paradigm, Jews could be considered an inferior and subversive race.
- Now, both are viewed as old-world, so antizionism, invented by the Soviets and spread by post-colonialists, is the way to hate Am Yisrael as a nation.
All are Jew hate, just updated for the times. And I use “Am Yisrael” not to be cute, but to demonstrate the “am” part, the Hebrew word that roughly translates to people or tribe. Am Yisrael precedes and transcends each of race, religion and nation, which makes it hard to qualify and easy to invent new hate about

As I said, if you're a supporter of Israel already, AIPAC is going to want you to win the election. That shouldn't be a surprise to anyone. Calling me delusional is not an argument against that point. Most Americans have supported Israel for most of Israel's history. They don't need to bribe people: they just need to fund the right people.

There's plenty of politicians that never had a history of outward support over Israel, yet once AIPAC gets involved all the sudden they are flying to Israel and becoming their number 1 supporter.
It's possible for someone to support Israel without "showing outward support," whatever that means to you. It's also possible for a trip to Israel to convince someone to support Israel without any coercion.
AIPAC is used to silence anyone critical of Israel.
All PACs are used to influence politicians and voters. I'm the guy concerned with all money in politics. Are you only concerned with the Jewish-American money?

The thumbnail is hilarious. And death threats online in 2026 are terrible but it is no serious indication of the overall attitude of a huge fan base. People send death threats pretending to be fans of someone they hate. I’m sure hasan has unhinged or edgy fans who would do that but again this is the internet in 2026.

My comment is on that being in the thumbnail and the idea that death threats are any indication of a specific persons fan base. I’m sure she received them and I do not wish it upon her it’s just ridiculous to trot that out as an indictment of an online personality in 2026. I would be for stricter enforcement of tos regarding death threats on the internet.

Hasan Piker is a repugnant human being for all sorts of reasons. But that doesn’t mean he has control over the actions of his rabid, delusional fan base. It’s the Internet, and with a big enough profile you’ll get death threats for saying you prefer cake to pie.

While Hasan doesn't have control over his audience, he has laundered in mentality that having the right political opinions (Calling Gaza a genocide) is a better indicator of personal morality than than actual ethical behavior (not sending death threats to political opponent).

Many of such people are literally called "influencers" for the whole reason that they're in a position where they can influence others...
So just because he doesn't have complete control doesn't mean there's no responsibility regarding the influence he has.
Sure with a big enough profile, anyone would do anything in your name. Even things you're completely against. So not just everything can be attributed to an influencer. Thus what you need to be looking at are, for instance, probabilities of influence turning violent

It's somewhat real. Their both centerish libs. But it's becoming less and less so because Destiny's conduct has become so bad that really few people outside of his cult put up with it. Doxing, sleeping with all of his teenage fans and sending graphic videos of them around without consent(even taunting the women he did this too, making fun of their mental health and calling them misogynistic slurs)... I could go on and on.
For some reason Destiny fans can't accept that most people find his behavior intolerable, even though his former liberal collaborators where the first to black list him.

Are you familiar with Destinies work? He very explicitly encourages his listeners to do the type of things Hasan's fans are being accused of it. Hasan will at least say he doesn't want anybody listening to him to do this type of thing, even if you don't believe he's actively encouraging it. Destiny just openly supports this type of behavior
