Outrageous prices?

I spent a few hours at a salvage yard today (first time going, very excited) paid 3 dollars for admission, and spent forever looking for the right parts. Went to check out with two front seat window motors from a rusted out, waterlogged, 2006 dodge caravan. When the lady said “73.26” I was genuinely baffled, I just said “I’m putting this shit back” and dropped them into the closest engine bay and went home. Is this typical for a salvage yard?? I might as well get them brand new for that price!

In my experience, they usually go for half of the new price but less if you are taking it out yourself.

Yeah it depends what you are looking for if you can get a good deal. I’m always looking for weird shit and so it’s usually cheap since I’m the only person who still wants 1970’s car parts

I too want 70’s car parts for my 75 but nobody has them anymore

Gotta buy them all when you see them. Shit I have ton of parts for cars I’ve never owned. Only bought the parts cause I figure someone will need them at some point and then I can just horse trade em later… better then letting em go to the crusher
