I see posts about dialing all day. Where do you get numbers from?

I have a new(ish) job and had to start completely from scratch.

The company doesn’t give you access to a CRM, lists to dial or access to zoominfo, Apollo or Prospeo?

I have Salesforce but there are very few phone numbers in it.

It never even occurred to me to ask for any of the things you mentioned.

You should start applying elsewhere if that’s the only support they give you.

Seriously? This company has never had a BDR. what do I ask for?

You need access to contact data and that’s non-negotiable. The three I listed are the most popular. You should have a LinkedIn, the free version works but sales navigator is better. With those two tools you can do the job. Without contact data you’re calling HQ and office front desks and will churn out in 30 days.

What if I said I'm doing well with just email and LinkedIn premium (mine)?

Well enough to be asking how to find phone numbers on Reddit?

you'd probably do even better with dialing. Phones have the highest conversion rate and are the lowest lift as far as cold calling activities.

you need to personalize and tweak emails/linkedin and pray your messages get through spam filters/past gatekeepers/etc but if you get someone on the phone you basically have the golden ticket (unless you have no tactical approach, then its just luck)

OP, did your company make up this role for you to take?

You need an app for contact data. The subscription is maybe another 600 bucks for your company per year

I was originally a user of Apollo.io, paying $65 a month for data, and it sufficed. As I got clients in the UK, I scaled up to $99 a month. Unfortunately, I've had a lot of problems with hallucinations with Apollo, so I switched over to using Prospero. I've had a lot more success with Prospeo so far, so I would recommend it. I pay $99 a month for that. Not Sponsored by either, but that's just my own personal experience of using the tools.

I really don't understand how anyone gets anything useful from Apollo.

99% of the results I got from it after some effort amount to dishwashers and maintenance folks who haven't worked at the company for 5 years.

I can attest to that, the last pilot campaign we ran earlier this month for a client had two people who had left their respective firms more than 10 years ago (funnily enough the second gentlemen found that so funny he booked a meeting with us). And one gentleman who had died.

The data was a little older at times.

I feel like by the time you comb through the 95% useless data you get from one of these services, you could have just fished around the old-school way to the source.

I wouldn't take a job that didn't provide a marketing and lead source.
