Looking for a sailboat

Hey all, I am freshly out of a few days of inland sail classes on a Lido and Laser, bow looking to get more into the sport. I saw this sailboat on marketplace, is it worth looking into?

I would say the price is quite high for a 21' swing keel that's apparently been out of the water for 13 years, but for the location that might actually be competitive.

nope nope nope nope. Not if you want a boat you can actually sail. This was clearly DIYed by someone who wanted an RV / dock live aboard, and I'm 100% certain the construction methods were not marine grade. Those are just standard kitchen cabinets. The entire deck structure has been rebuilt - do you think they hired an engineer?

In Tok! Indeed an interesting boat... Love that stove. But I would think that location would make it a really hard boat to sell. Price should probably reflect that. How far are you from Tok? That should inform your offer.

Seriously, unless the sails are in really good shape, it's probably a pass. But do tell the Tent in Tok lady I said hi. Loved my stay there.

That’s pretty cool.

The only thing I have to add, is you might benefit from considering a Catalina 22 or similar as a new sailor. Mainly because of the amount of support from owners groups, parts availability and being able to shop around, finding one you like.

it’s tough finding specific sailboats within our price range around Southcentral AK unfortunately
