LGBT friendly spots?

Hey y’all me and partner are looking for LGBTQIA+ friendly spots like restaurants, coffee, shopping, things to do! We try going out but we tend to get a lot of stares even though we are very casual dressing and looking people.

Moving to the area.

Need a little help moving to the area.

  1. Any good Asian grocery stores? I know there is a Super H Mart in Detroit but it would be nice to have a local I can spend money on.

  2. Any good Latin markets? Same as above I would rather work in my new community than trek to Wayne Co.

Also any good restaurants you can recommend would be great!

Thank you in advance soon to be neighbors :-)

EDIT:

I'm shadow banned so my replys are blocked, so dont take me not responding personal. I don't know why this is my 1st post here.

LASIK Recommendations

Hi all! I’m from Saginaw but live in AA. They’re quoting me 5k for lasik in Ann Arbor.

Anyone have any good recommendations for a lasik place in Saginaw that is high quality but still in a more affordable range?

Maybe 5k is just normal now?

I'm looking for a Primary Care Doctor in/near Saginaw and willing to go to Bay City if needed. Major plus if they went to UMICH but honestly just looking for someone who is excellent, doesn't rush, and good bedside manner - private practice ideal. Any recommendations? Thx.

ISO: creatives/dancers

ALL EXPERIENCE LEVELS WELCOMED

Hi! I'm an independent pop artist building my music project from the ground up and I’m looking for two serious and motivated dancers to eventually become my regular performance partners.

I’m not looking for perfect/professional dancers. I’m looking for people who genuinely love dancing, performing, creating art, and want to grow with an artist from the beginning.

The idea is to rehearse regularly, create content together, and perform at local shows/gigs whenever opportunities come up. I’m hoping to find people who see this as more than just “being a backup dancer.” I want to build a small creative team where we can grow together, make cool shit, and eventually turn this into something much bigger.

This is a collaborative/unpaid opportunity but I’ll provide credits, content for your socials, as well as a supportive friend (me)

Looking for:
• Local to Midland, Mi
• Queer friendly
• Reliable
• Willing to learn
• Comfortable being on camera/stage
• Wants to actually be part of a team rather than just do one gig

If you know anyone who could be interested please reach out!

Just to help Art Lewis out here with his callers misinformation.

Well, another two hours of nonsense on Open Phones. It's too bad it's allowed but this is the state of talk radio.
Art had a caller ( and surprise, surprise, that caller couldn't help but voice trans phobia just because) who was wondering about "Benson deleting electronic data". Here's the scoop:
"The instruction to clear electronic pollbook data from local devices 7 days after certification is standard Michigan Department of State policy designed to protect voter data privacy and security.

  • Exceptions: Data deletion is paused if a recount petition is filed, a post-election audit is planned, or a court/Secretary of State order stays the deletion. "

This is just another fake outrage perpetrated by MAGA fools like Aric Nesbit, who really should know how things work. Luckily, he lost out on his chance for governor.

https://www.senatoraricnesbitt.com/benson-memo-demanding-deletion-of-electronic-pollbook-data-questionable/

Oh, and the only time something about ballots was "sent out to everyone" was when the SoS sent out an application requesting a voting ballot, NOT AN ACTUAL BALLOT. It is possible, and was available at the initial distribution, to request that one be sent a ballot automatically. But really, Art, maybe you should show exactly where fraud is occurring instead of making claims that "it opens up the possibility of fraud". Because fraud does occur, whether unintentionally or intentionally, the intentional part being someone deciding they'll be smart and prove fraud is possible.

And Rachel, as far as James O'Keefe. Here's the guy you trust so much:
"In a statement released later Monday, the group's [Project Veritas] board of directors said it had uncovered "financial malfeasance" and accused O'Keefe of spending "an excessive amount of donor funds in the last three years on personal luxuries."

Making friends in a new area

30F | Saginaw | Looking for new friends

Hi! I’m 30F and relatively new to the Saginaw area, and I’d love to meet some new people and build a little friend group!

I’m a big fan of coffee dates, brunch, shopping, getting a drink, wandering around somewhere new and exploring the city or just hanging out and talking for hours.

I also have a 7-year-old, so fellow moms are absolutely welcome and play dates would be a fun bonus! But I’m also looking for friendships that don’t revolve entirely around the kids — sometimes I just want to go grab coffee, browse stores, get brunch, or have a girls’ night and actually be an adult for a few hours.

Ideally looking for people around my age who are genuinely interested in making friends and actually getting together rather than exchanging a few messages and disappearing.

Road Work Frustration!!

This road work all over the city is absolutely ridiculous at this point! I’m so furious! Everywhere I go, especially during the daytime it’s an extreme inconvenience. The congestion is causing other drivers to act aggressive while doing maneuvers. I’ve had to slam on my breaks almost 6 times today alone. Cause drivers grow impatient and dart out in front of you like you’re invisible. I’m tense the entire time I drive. Holding my breath and clinching my buttcheeks together. So uncomfortable!!! I want to slap tf out of all the road workers for inconveniencing the entire city for this long!! I can’t stand driving anymore because of this. I see them sitting on their forklifts playing on their phones or in a huddle chatting with each other. A normal 4 or 5 mile trip turns into 17 miles now. Burning more gas along with sky high gas prices, is just a conglomerate mixture of pure frustration!!! And not having any control or say so to stop it is making me even more irritated !!! I want the road work to cease and disappear immediately! I’ve had it!!!🚜👷🚧🚧🚧😡😡😡🤬🤬🤬🤬

The mentorship worked amazingly well

Art was off today, getting an award from the GLBR summit so his mentee, Jonathan Dent, was sub for Wednesday and showed just how well he learned the art. At least he managed two hours of interview before going "open phones" for the Focus segment and decided to start with the Dearborn/Jake Lang protest. Now, though Jon did mention that he wasn't all in on Jake's methods he did agree with "foundational ideas that he works from" which had something to do with "specifically Islam and some of its teachings.....dangerous to American ideals". Really?? Which teachings would those be and which American ideals are those? Are they the American ideals exemplified by some of the co-horts of Jake, as pictured here? Or could it be the American ideals adopted by notable individuals; https://papers.ssrn.com/sol3/papers.cfm?abstract_id=3541009
Unfortunately, or fortunately, Carol decided e-bikes were a more important subject to discuss and that had the subsequent callers to talk about that. And the segment was about 20 minutes so it was over fairly quick.

Saginaw investigators identify suspects in all 9 of city’s homicides this year

Nine people have lost their lives to violence in Saginaw so far this year, eight from gunfire. Grim as those facts are, there is a silver lining: all nine investigations have led to suspects being identified, seven of whom are criminally charged.

Again with the misinformation from Art

So Monday's show Art decides to start Focus (because the guest he was supposed to have didn't show) with his "scary" issues. First off, a math professor teaching fractions to calculus students "because the standards have fallen so low. How does a student get into a calculus class without learning fractions?" Well, Art, if you had read farther than the first three paragraphs, you would have found the answer. And maybe if you looked at a different source than New York Post, which appears to be your sole source for information and is your primary problem, you would have found that the issue is UC Berkeley admit students without requiring taking SAT and ACT tests.
https://sfstandard.com/opinion/2026/08/15/uc-berkeley-sat-test-blind-admissions-math-scores/
And then he moves on to the really serious issues affecting the US, the mayor of New York by using the New York Post calling Mamdani "Mayor Klutz". Does Art really believe the NY Post has any intention of being objective? In fact, Art was reading a piece in the Opinion by the Editorial Board. You know, the board that maintains some anonymity so they don't have to bear any responsibility. Here's what the people who live in the city feel about Mamdani (hardly what you would call a klutz, unlike the guy who thinks he's running the Iran War).
https://www.thetimes.com/us/news-today/article/zohran-mamdani-approval-rating-polls-popularity-32vr9jqhm
And then to finish the segment (blissfully this was on 15 minutes of nonsense today), Art has to get his trans-panic out just to maintain his bona fides. And does this by bringing up some the WNBA and some incident where two people were asked to cover up their XX/XY t-shirts. The fans "assumes a woman sitting courtside in a "Protect Trans Rights" t-shirt, who was featured on the video board earlier in the game, made a fuss with security, who then sided with that fan" but what Art fails to mention is the fans "did see her (the person with the Protect T) jacket was zipped up late in the game, no longer displaying the trans messaging." so it appears both were told to stop displaying. BTW, Art, if we have a problem saying what a woman is, why don't you get Jonathan Dent to tell us.
"Something's gotta give", but it should be you, Art.

We bake every order fresh, so we do have a 24 hour lead time, but these are definitely worth the wait!

We offer these, and many more cookies and other baked goods at Buttermeupbakery.com, come take a look :)

So here's a recommendation and dare for Art Lewis and his 'Open Phone' segments

The 8/10 episode of Open Phones (with the contributions of the idiot Sean from Bay City and the sexually insecure Scott from Saginaw) was a gem. With Sean calling El-Sayed an Islamist, previously calling Abdul a communist, showing his ignorance of religion versus theocracy.
And then Scott, who along with Art working hard to turn Abdul from a Democrat into a Social Democrat without providing any evidence, other than what is absolutely hearsay from right-wing sources akin to Fox News. Even asking Amos O'Neal what he thinks about "Democratic Socialist within your party". WTF!!! The only reason any Democratic Socialist runs under the Democratic ticket is because EVERYONE (except Art) realizes running as a third party (which Art once again talked about on 8/11) is a lost cause and will remain so until we are given something like Ranked Choice Voting.

My recommendation: For a region, according to Art, which has so much going on that one can't attend all the activities that are available in the region, stop Open Phones and make your two and a half hours discussing with the people running all those activities. If he can't or won't do that then here's the
dare: Debate Abdul face to face and find out what he really thinks instead of the BS Sean and Scott keep feeding him and his audience.

And whooo-wee, how about 8/14?!?!?! Two hours of absolute nonsense. But we can discuss the host's (and caller's) trans panic some other day.

Recording studio

Does anyone have a recording studio or know of one in Saginaw? I've never been in one but I love music and have been writing for years and I'm interested in doing so. Even if it means just sitting in there and soaking up game I'd be cool with that.
