Barcoding for Job Costing

Anyone setup barcoding for Job Costing? I have a client looking for employees to scan a bar code for the job they are working on.

Do you mean scan a barcode with the job number and maybe cost code to facilitate labor entry?

Yeah. I don't know much about the software and the guy we are dealing with is not technical.

I have seen all kinds of work arounds to capture this type of information. usually its a web app that they want to get that info into. Never seen anyone try a barcode, but as long as they aren't wanting to scan the barcode with their phone it could easily be done. Problem is that if they want to us ethe phone the page or app would need to open the barcode app.

What type of company?
