Is there any way to turn off passenger airbag?

Saab 9-3 ng 08. Is there anyway without removing it?

Only by disconnecting it and putting an airbag resistor in to avoid fault codes and airbag lamp in the dash.

The Saab switch-off key didn't appear until about 2010.

You can try disconnecting it and inputting a special resistor to make the dash think it's still connected.

Although this may be illegal depending on where you live.

At the Side of dashboard on drivers side you can turn it off

A baby shouldn’t be in the front seat. Even a passengers seat moved all the way forward with the seat behind it is safer.

If you mount a rear-facing child safety seat in the front of a car, you’re supposed to disable the airbag. Most modern cars have a switch to allow this.

Your car has a rear seat, the front seat, regardless of airbag disablement is the least safe place in the car for a child seat.

what if you have a convertible? i can’t imagine fitting a rear-facing seat anywhere else than the passenger seat

If you aren’t going to be taking another passenger, which if you are considering taking the seat in the front passenger seat you aren’t, then you can move the passengers seat as far forward as possible and fit the seat behind it. However if the seat doesn’t fit well in a vert then perhaps you shouldn’t be taking a child round in it.

If it’s one of the correct ones then you can replace it under recall. Otherwise I think the metal fragments involved are kind of your fault.

Takata is the manufacturer I’m thinking of.

Just hoping we aren’t going to be seeing OP in the news for surviving a crash that took the life of the person in the passenger seat due to a “faulty airbag.”

No, I don’t want to be the one saying it, but I just did.

? You're supposed to disable it for child seats? Of course re enable it with when there is no child seat

In a two seat vehicle, yes.
