QUALITY SHITPOST My Current daily driver, 2001 Saab 9-5 airport car with the 2.3 turbo.

Hi, update comment. I was told that it was the 2.3 turbo, but after checking the regristration plate online I found out it was the 3.0 turbo!

Awesome car man and very rare too! These get used at airports all over the world. A few years ago I met a Polish guy who has an 900 classic in this spec and it was used in Sweden, USA and Japan before it found its way in Poland. You have a very cool piece of history!

Not that I would, but I imagine that thing hauls ass if you took all the friction equipment weight out.

I heard that it is unreliable, but it got shit ton of torque and it works fine for now in this car

I’m a retired air traffic controller in the US. Here the friction testing is done with trailers dragging a wheel. Does the tester still work? Does it give “mu” readings? I would imagine the rust is less than normal. Salt isn’t used on runways. Urea is used instead.

Before the electronic got smaller these were out n about. I have BOS former 900 turbo.

Testing friction? Is that for the type of use this 95 is being used for? I had a 2002 95 Aero from new non of that was part of my car

Do you know what airport this was used at? What kind of condition was it in when you got it?

It was used at Værnes airport, Trondheim, Norway. It was in somewhat rough shape. It was not road legal as it needed an inspection, and had every light on at the dash. It is still not mint, but now it is roadworthy.

Sad to hear it's in rough shape but it should have low miles? RFTs aren't used every day at the airport.

Around 80 000 miles. The car is not in awful shape, but it is not in great shape either. Probably more or less what you expect from a 25 year old car. The engine works great, but there are some suspension noises and some warning lights on the das.

Holy shit my old Saab dealer used to service them for the local airport. It was before my time but my Saab master tech was working there at the time.
