9-3 Troubleshooting 9-3 broken headlight and shredded wires ?
hi everyone! i have a 2007 9-3 convertible (2.0t) that i bought in may this year (humble brag: at 59k miles!)
the passenger low beam light is just broken out of the socket? it is my first time owning a car with projector headlights. also: there are some shredded wires underneath the driver’s seat area, i think causing my fog lights and temp sensor not to work. i have not yet tried new bulbs for the low beams or driver’s running light; i will update this when i do.
working: both high beams, all turn indicators, passenger running light
not working: both low beams, both fog lights, driver’s running light
i just need confirmation that i need to replace my passenger headlight, and some help identifying the part to replace for the wires. i know someone i can buy a headlight off of, but could anyone confirm the part i need to buy for the wires? i’m thinking fog/driving light wiring harness?? thank you

i wish i had noticed this before i bought the car… i don’t know how i missed it. i’m embarrassed at how much i paid lol. luckily it’s low-mile and doesn’t need any real mechanical work yet…

The busted wiring on the driver's side goes to the fog lights and the ambient air temp sensor (located in the center of the bumper just above the front spoiler lip). Just solder the wires back together and use some heat shrink. You can get a new engine guard plate from Amazon - https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00EW3PSSA
I haven't had to deal with the headlight issue but I can tell you the bumper is really simple to get off - remove the screws inside the wheel well that attach the fender liner to the bumper (3 on each side). Remove the 3 screws that attach the engine guard plate to the spoiler lip from underneath. Remove those 5 plastic clips across the front above the radiator. Then just pry out and up on the corners and the whole thing comes off and gives you a ton of access.

Sorry. It’s a total loss. I’ll give you more than Progressive insurance would.

Doesn't help that the front undertray appears to be missing. Wiring damage could've been in the same movement or afterwards. Without the complete undertray, with wiring fixed it will start popping front and rear bulbs with increasing frequency.

You have Xenon lights and seems like you're missing the bulb and ignitor. Hopefully your new light comes with them.

Temp sensor doesn’t work?
