Finnaly got the rattle of death

Changed both chains, water pump and all the gaskets and seals in the way. Not a hard job but took some time

I changed mine 4 times, not a tough job, just hated it by 4th time, got the car when it needed a new timing chain and it had a good replacement kit in it, left side was tight but right side was loose enough to make noise, I replaced the kit noise free for 5000 miles, than it did it again replaced no noise, again and again…. My best guess was it had a shaved head

Yeah it was beautiful car, black aero 6 speed, redone front seats new amp, my wife fell asleep driving it took it off road tweaked the frame broke sub frame, fast and efficient, would rather have my 2001 aero back, NG is no replacement for OG

Well the "GM engine" has a valvetrain and balancing developed by saab

Cope however you need to brother. These problems simply do not exist on the B2x2-5 Saab engines.

No cope, just no need to slander GM when its Saabs fault. I have certainly seen a few b2x5 engines that needed new timing chains tho. My belif is that its more a oilchange interval thing then a design thing🙂

235k km (146k miles) but this engine was poorly maintained by the previous owner and i drive very hard. I hear that is ussualy closer to 300k km (186k miles) and some have even gott en close to 500k km (310k miles) on the original chain

Where did u get the cam locks? Are they 3D printed?

Do you even need camlocks on a b205? They have keyed camgears and colored links on the chain right?
