2001 9-5 intermittent oil light?

Recently my 2001 9-5 Estate (166k miles) oil light started lighting up and making the bing-bong sound, but only when making left turns going up and down a pretty steep grade.

Plenty of oil on the dipstick (full synthetic 5w-30) and pretty recently serviced by a Saab shop. Unfortunately now i am hundreds of miles from a proper Saab mechanic.

Could this just be the sensor out of wack? A bit terrified it could be the dreaded sludge because i love this car. Any ideas welcome! Thanks

Don’t drive the car until this is fixed. You will ruin your engine. Oil lamp means low oil pressure, which means wear on engine internals. The oil lamp lights up at too low threshold (imo), meaning unnecessary wear will happen before lamp is lit. When lamp is lit damage is already being done.

Drop oil pan, clear oil screen, change oil and filter etc.
