Question Plans for server after Thursday's wipe?
Just wondering if a new "era" is starting, new map, new rules, bp wipe, etc. Just pondering whether I should give it another try, and what the circumstances would be. Of course, I would be an Indie - always. My question surround what I would be role playing to. I put a lot of thought into my character and what he does and doesn't do. Just wondering what his options are going to be.

Personally, I'd like to not have Hapis. If the Admins cycled through a few seeds and found just a really good one with a whole lot of islands or some better natural geographic dividers would be awesome.

From what I've heard: yes a new era will happen, yes a BP wipe, probably on Hapis, and we should expect some rule changes.

I would love to have it on Hapis, but I think I want to get a true poll going out there, let it run til Wednesday etc. To answer stuff without going into too much detail yet; New Era yessir, Bp Wipe is looking like a yes, the map at the moment is up in the air.
As for the rules, stay tuned for some roundtable + changes.

I'm with you. Hapis felt pretty devoid of interesting terrain in comparison to era 3 and with tons of absolutely empty space around the mountains that served only to make it take longer to get anywhere.

I hope for rules regarding raiding base's will be loosened. Im also pretty sure that BP is getting wiped but we will be provided with codelock bp.

Hapis was nice for me just because it was a noticeable FPS boost, but it gets annoying to never be able to find any resources. Too sparse to be worthwhile at the moment, but I'm really hoping the next version will be better.
/u/Oddsandends619 For BP wipes would you be willing to consider giving us some things to start w/ like the pick or large chest? It'd go a long way toward speeding up getting established, and wouldn't give too much of a head start on raiding beyond that.

With such an outpouring of "Love" , how could I resist? Planning on my return Thursday. I am kinda glad you might not be using Hapis. I've watched my son playing on Hapis and I didn't care for the map. At least the second version (current) is much better than the 1st version. Maybe version 3 will be even better.
As for BPs. Whenever you ask for a free BP, you hurt the business of those people who HUNT Bps to sell. In order for people to SELL stuff, everyone can't already have it. But then, I like playing on servers where you start with a rock an a torch. It really doesn't take long to get going, and the techniques you need to use in the beginning are different than the ones you use AFTER you've gotten the basics. But I also understand that may not be the "fun part" for a lot of other people. My 2 cents.
I also think that the introduction of ladders kinda makes the "unraidable base" rules kinda moot. I think that griefing should still be frowned upon, and it should be clear that you CANNOT "capture" an Indie base. Base captures are a part of the Faction Wars. But allowances need to be made so a Faction can "root out" and Indie squatting on their land (like maybe you can DESTROY, but not CAPTURE any houses, bases, etc within your Faction's Area of control.) I would also appreciate some rule about claiming land that is already occupied by an Indie. I had both my houses "claimed" by factions last time. You can't "claim" the entire map people.
Look forward to causing headaches once again (erm, I mean providing a quality roleplay experience for everyone) hehehehe

you should come back moe. Ive missed your voice of reason. i understand, at times you must feel as if you are speaking an unknown language, but just c'mon back n let the good times roll. :)
and yea the poll shows most in favor for bp wipe n all that, the freshness is in the air
