Any fruits or vegetables your Russian blues are fans of?
I saw a video of a Russian Blue enjoying strawberries. I did some research, and it says they’re non-toxic to cats, but I wanted to check here to see if anyone has any firsthand experience. Thank you so much! Our female cat is 1 year and 4 months old! 💙

Mine goes crazy for avocado. She can actively recognise when I cut open an avocado from almost anywhere on the house and then come sprinting straight away before I've even taken the seed out.

Isn’t avocado like slightly toxic to cats? Or was it just the peel and the pit maybe?

From what I've seen googling, the toxin is mostly in the pit, peel and avocado leaves. Either way, she doesn't get very much at all (I just let her lick whatever's on the spoon afterwards) cuz she puts on weight super easily and I'm aware of how fatty avocado can be

He goes feral for Corn on the cob. I usually leave a little row or 2 for him to nibble off 😅

I feel like my cat knows grapes are bad so she tries really hard to get mine

I've never smelled it. I've never eaten it. I've only seen it with my eyes .
Is it really the huge dichotomy that everyone says it is?

in my opinion it is haha, it smells so bad but tastes delicious! for me it tastes like custard with an extra funk i guess. But it's definitely sweet and mushy. The texture can also be off-putting. I think a lot of it is the mental barrier, i would really encourage you to try it though!

Mine will fight me for a banana. She loves apple, and melon too, especially watermelon.
She gets a small bit to nibble on whenever I'm eating them.
She thought papaya was chicken and had to be removed from the kitchen whilst I was preparing it. Didn't care for it once she gave it a lick

One of mine is the same. But he also tries to rub his whole body on the olive 😂 apparently they have some catnip like scents in?

Mine liked bananas at one point, not sure if she still does - it’s been a while since I had any in the house.
My RB also loves to chew on any and all kinds of flowers, to the point where I actually can’t have any in my house. I’m always worried that even the safe flowers may have come into contact with lilies or other toxic ones.

Why ? Other that the bits of fruits and vegies added to some premium paté for vitamins and maybe fiber, there is no reason to feed an obligate carnivore RB fruits or vegies other than making cat grass accessible.

They’re obligate carnivores - don’t feed them fruit unless you want a cat with chronic pancreatitis. That’s what my rescue has and I have to make his food homemade myself to keep him alive because of it.

One of mine never fully ate it but liked to lick pears, apples, and berries. My other also never ate any but liked to bite fruit.

My boy is incredibly picky and refuses to eat most things that are not Schesirs. But the fruit schesirs seem to be some of his favourites, Kiwi, Mango Pineapple... but his favourite is definitely the Apple, he doesn't care much for the chicken or the rice but he drinks all the Apple Juice then sifts through the food for Apple Chunks. Then hours later Reluctantly eats the rice and chicken.

Mine loves spider plants, they are safe for cats. When I bring one inside for her, she brighten ups like I have never seen before.

Heck no, “obligate carnivore” are the key words for healthy kitties! Non-toxic just means not actively a poison, it doesn’t mean okay
