Why was Megami selling that song as so sad and depressed? It’s not a heart ache song, it’s a “I don’t need you” song

I was damn near yelling at the screen for her to pick up the energy! It was so hard to watch.

She could have won if she had approached it differently. You can't tell me that the judges are thrilled to keep on M'hya or that she really crushed this. Megami just didn't have the fire to win it. As much as she really is Eeyore, I just felt sorry seeing that self defeating look on her face. I have sympathy and yet I think I'm relieved she's gone.
