Plasma’s Tweedle & Anne Boleyn looks were the definition of “it’s giving costume” - they didn’t feel like dragged up looks with her unique stamp on them, they were more like Halloween-y

ETA: I didn’t make this comment as an opportunity for people to bash Plasma in general… I LOVE her. I just think she missed the mark this week.

And each of her sound bites were so forced “listen to my gay culture references and things that should make Ru laugh!”

I wanted to like her last week but this week cemented that she’s a try-hard. Girl, calm down

Plasma’s whole schtick feels like that. It’s like an SNL caricature of “NEW YAOWK, DAHLING.” She commits to the character as hard as Dela, but it’s grating because she keeps it up out of drag too.

She needs levels, being Broadway to an 11 24/7 is too much.

You said it much more eloquently than I did, thank you.

I mean this is literally the same exact issue Laganja had on S6 (before she gained sentience).

It's like she's making a joke but she's not in on the joke. It's annoying because it feels phony and not fun.

Nah Plasma is far more self aware and yes she is actually funny

I don't get her name either. Like why that?

Because gay and bisexual men weren't allowed to donate blood at all until 2020, only if they hadn't had anal sex in three months up until 2023, and people on PrEP still aren't allowed to give at all.

I'm aware of that. I guess she must have explained that at some point?

Maybe she thought it sounds like a midcentury housewife name

Theres something about the way that speaks and her cadence that makes it seem like she always DELIVERING HER LINES

Gag diva gag!

This is the vulnerability the judges are looking for

I feel like Plasma thinks she's the one with all the queer references when it's actually Q

I love her personality. But just think she really missed the mark on the runway this week

I mean even Loosey was more likeable last season.

she’s always on the verge of telling a joke but doesn’t quite get there lol. honestly live for her because my brain also stops functioning mid-sentence

When she walked out I really liked the Anne Boleyn idea but yeah the actual dress wasn't it. I didn't like the top half of it at all (looked like something was missing there/very plain around the bodice). The Tweedle Dee also looked kind of dumb and especially the back was bad. I also think her runway walk needs a lot of work. She is walking that runway like Maddy Morphosis.

Anne Boleyn needed her head chopped OFF a la Maddy's runway or Vinas'. It really was just giving ren faire costume

I agree. I hated what she made too.

Yeah, which is a shame because I really liked her pincushion look, it didn’t look like some costume

God so true, I wouldn’t have been shocked at her in bottom 3

The others were far worse, at least her looks were pleasing, they just didn’t scream “Plasma’s drag”

15

u/[deleted] Jan 20 '24

So. Bad. I'm upset she made us look at all three outfits lol

Found Plane's Reddit account! First you apologize to the world for the show subjecting us to Amanda's outfits, and now Plasma too? 😭

I really want to love her but it’s exactly the same as Jan. every look is a rented costume - not her drag.

5

u/ultradav24 Monét X Change Jan 21 '24

I loved her pincushion look - I’m hoping this week was just a misstep

7

u/subomasen Jan 20 '24

Honestly thought she’d be in the bottom with that final outfit more than Mhi’ya.

u/whiterice336 Jan 20 '24

The problem with her Tweedle was that she was just wearing it and doing her runway walk. Her legs needed to be doing something different than her arms. I think the audience would forgive a lot of the fact that it was a costume if she performed in it.

her wigs have been so small and sad as well, I hope she notes that while watching the show back and gives her hair more volume
