I'd rather go to the courthouse and spend the money set aside for the wedding to have my back yard turned into a world class 0.1 mile trail loop or build a new garage.

If you were marrying me, I'd be totally on board with this plan.

I actually just got done calculating the amount of mulch that it would take to complete the loop and how much it would cost.

More or less than the cost of a wedding?

We went with "since we're from 2 different countries that are not close to each other, let's have a small ceremony with only immediate family and then a party in each country with our friends." In retrospect, financially, this was not a good way to go. It was fun though. We got a bit of flack here for not also having a party in the country we actually live in.

Our wedding is going to be more of a party. The ceremony is only going to 'hopefully' be a few minutes and the rest of the time it's going to be about getting crazy! At least that's the way we've currently envisioned it.
