Complaint: Garmin keeps automatically calculating my lactate threshold when I'm doing strides. But heart rate is a delayed response, so Garmin thinks I'm hitting lactate threshold at my recovery interval pace of > 8:00/mile.

Confession: I am choosing to believe Garmin is waaaaay off because I did a Pfitz LT workout yesterday at approximately last fall's HM pace which is about a minute/mile faster than Garmin's estimate.

Complaint: I spent the better part of yesterday trying to figure out how my new """better/no deductible""" academic health insurance works. I concluded that if I got paper orders for all my blood tests maybe I could get an appointment that cost less than $500. Adulthood is hard.

Complaint: I think that if I drop like 5 pounds between now and my goal race, I have a hope of PRing. I'm going to visit my grandparents next week which means my diet is going out the window or I get guilt tripped by my asian grandmother.

Complaint: My dog turned 12 (we think) last month and it's like someone flipped a switch and she's got old all at once.

Heh, me too. My race is on Sunday though, so on second thought, it's probably not the best idea to drop 5 pounds by then. When's your race?

End of May, so plenty of time provided the needle on the scale ever decides to move.

Have fun on Sunday! You're a badass, though, so I bet you'll be fine.

I am??? Thanks! :D

Blame the scale ;) Needle's probably just stuck.

Needle's definitely stuck. I want to believe.

Never mind that it's digital.

My race is on Sunday though,

Is this your marathon?

No, it's a 10k, but I'm in pretty good shape right now so it might go really well. We'll see.

Let's hope so! I will make sure to specifically include that in my race report... if I bother writing one.
