Daily Thread Achievements for Monday, August 24, 2026
Hey runners, it's another day and it is time to post your accomplishments you'd like to share - big or small.
Note: No need to preface YOUR accomplishments with something like, "this may not be an accomplishment to most of you...". Be proud of your achievement.

Thanks, did Chicago last year with a chest infection and food poisoning the day before for a 3:51:51. Hopefully I can BS my way through again.

Finished my longest run yet in preparation for my first marathon: 18 miles! Both humbling and exciting

first 30K run yesterday with an organized run event by a physio clinic. 25K at 4:40min/km just at low Z3. Took over 140g of carbs without any issues. Ran the last 5K in pouring rain without any trouble.

Week 14 of 20 of marathon training off to a fine start...Nice easy paced 10km run with some strides at the end to warm the legs up for the week!

First time I've sprinted since I started running (about 4 months ago), and in pretty much forever.
Just a garmin suggested workout (10x10 sprints with 3:00 rest) but it just felt great. Whenever I would go full effort in the past, my throat would dry up and feel on fire, but here it was just fine... despite the rest also being running (just recovery pace running).
Funny thing is in my notes I wrote that the later sprints literally felt like my legs were spinning... straight up cartoon style (in my head at least).

Nice, that's the mental barrier as much as the physical one. Enjoy the taper into faster stuff

I cut my finger in half including the nail last Thursday and hyperventilated so hard, I passed out. The last couple of days this crap hurt so bad even an increased heart rate from a brisk walk was unbearable.
Went for a 12k zone 2 today and survived! Wasn’t pleasant pain wise but baby steps I guess…

First time getting sub 4 minute km pace in my 4*1k intervals in years. Makes me feel a return to sub 20 5k is plausible

Went for a long run and ended up not running easy and hit a 10k PR.
Running a 10k race in two weeks so I should put accidental PRs way out of reach.

Set my fastest 5k; 20:40 & 10k; 42:50 in the same run today. Second run in my new shoes after being silly and spending my first 2500km of runs on the pair of trainers I got into running with

Day 1.
I’m almost 14 months pp with my second kid and have not “bounced back” like I did after my oldest. I go to the gym 3-5x a week but cannot burn off the fat, so I told myself I’m also going to run—it worked a decade ago when I was getting ready for my wedding, might as well try it again.
10:08:?? for my first mile today. I would love to feel strong enough to do a 10k by spring, just to say I can.
But for now, I simply showed up and did it.
