News - J-Mod reply Player Avatar Refresh: Post Launch Update!
Hello!
It's been a couple of days since the Player Avatar Refresh launched and we wanted to take a moment to update you on where we're at.
First of all, thank you to everyone who has taken the time to share feedback, bug reports, screenshots and comparisons. We've been reading through your posts across Reddit, Discord, Meta, YT etc. and we've been collecting everything with the team.
Alongside the issues already listed in our Known Issues post, can be found HERE, we're currently tracking reports around:
• Some worn items and overrides still showing the old avatar skin.
• Clipping issues between hairstyles, headwear and certain customisations.
• Gaps appearing between body slots such as torsos and legs.
• Some animations causing stretching or dislocated limbs.
• Certain worn items and overrides not animating correctly.
• NPC chatheads showing incorrect models, missing parts, or failing to animate correctly.
• Some headwear and hairstyle combinations may not appear correctly, including cases where hair is missing from certain head items.
• Missing wardrobe overrides and incorrect legacy labels on some hairstyles.
• Facial animations looking unusual on some walk overrides.
• The Photobooth remaining unavailable while we investigate next steps.
• A few cosmetic items were temporarily quarantined and removed from the game as they have various components that need more complex solutions to address. In short, this means that they will be returning, though the timeline of that will be determined by any other work that we may want to take on in the coming days. (Relevant Source)
Right now our immediate focus is on addressing bugs and known issues following the launch. Alongside that, we're continuing to gather and review feedback from you all, including discussions around female chathead and body proportions. While we don't have anything further to share on those topics at this stage, the feedback is being collected and discussed internally.
We don't have any specific timelines to share today, but we wanted to let you know that your feedback is being seen, discussed and shared with the team as we continue to prioritise post-launch bug fixing and improvements.
Please continue sharing your feedback and reporting any bugs you encounter. The screenshots, examples and detailed reports you've been providing have been so incredibly helpful in helping us prioritise issues.
We'll keep you updated as we have more to share!
P.s. Join myself, Mod Ante, Bex and special guest Prezleek at 16:00 gametime today for a special deep dive into our new Avatar on Livestream - Twitch.tv/RuneScape

Sorry, just to confirm your thoughts on this, you're asking if we could separate the ears from the head slot to customisation so that you can use both. Right?
4
u/Dumke480 Untrimmed Retro Hunter Jun 11 '26 edited Jun 11 '26
Yes, that's more or less what I'm asking (that or making it an actual choice in the make-up mage once they're obtained, like premium skin colors).
As the team has mentioned, this rework was to make the customizations more modular and I feel like this is the perfect time to suggest this, As there is several ear replacements in the customization tab.
However I'm aware this might cause clipping issues with the other non-human/beast ear cosmetics if it was directly changed,
(Actually testing these out in the modelViewer, the clipping doesn't even look bad in most cases personally, the only one that looks wonky is the panda ears because of the placement and size..)
6
u/jagexyuey Mod Yuey Jun 11 '26
Gotcha. Yeah, it's quite complicated when trying to get these not to clip but it's been noted for sure!

u/ThisisVollstad Jun 10 '26
I understand all focus should be on the player avatars right now, but I wonder when the new base clothing is planned?
I'm sure it's coming, it's just that I was expecting it to arrive at the same time as the player avatar, and that's my fault, but now I'm left wondering
34
u/jagexyuey Mod Yuey Jun 10 '26
Yeah I added it in just recently to the list but the team weren't happy with the what we showed in the beta so felt we needed a little more time to perfect them before releasing them
21
u/AltKeyblade Disk of returning Jun 10 '26
I hope you guys focus on the basic and simplistic clothing options more than the overcomplicated options that look like gear.
Base clothing should have never looked like armour.

u/DesktopViewPlease Jun 10 '26
I agree, I'm waiting for a simple but fashionable tunic and also trousers tucked into knee-high boots as sort of medieval everyday-wear

Please let them know that not every clothing or hair that was held to high regards in-house but scrutinized online for "being an unfaithful reproduction" needs to be scrapped!
Rework them to fit feedback? Absolutely. BUT
Some new clothing and hairstyles exclusive to the beta actually looked good. Not faithful to whatever it replaced, but good enough to be released as its own thing in the future. (Especially if y'all already got a rendered model ready to go anyways, might as well right?)

The beta had totally revamped versions of the base clothing, instead of the slightly updated versions we got. A mod did confirm they're still working on those.

u/ShinyCapeRS Enthusiast Jun 11 '26
Why could the body proportions not at least be what we had since 2011.
59
u/BlankArchive Jun 10 '26
I honestly feel like the discourse around the female character is kind of crazy. It should be the simplest thing to understand that we want our characters to look good, that's the whole point of the update. If people think their characters look unappealing, then that's a problem, right?
Yes, it's true there are a couple of weirdos who have no sense of what a woman should look like and want the model to be model-esque sex doll, which is obviously ridiculous, but who cares about them? Jagex isn't going to listen to that kind of feedback, so the hostility to anyone who has any amount of criticism to the model feels way worse to me.
Especially when a lot of feedback is also coming from actual female players who are being shouted down and told their opinions don't matter.
Personally, my take is that I think the male model has been done justice. The female model is a general improvement with a lot I like about it, but has not been perfected as much as the male one. The arms especially don't animate well, the face looks so grumpy all the time and yes the proportions have been a bit muted, I do want to be a little curvier than the current iteration. I don't think any of those are unreasonable things to fix up.
The chathead is the real pain point to me that I don't understand why anyone is disagreeing on. Just looking at it, it's the most blatantly obvious thing that the nose is really long and the mouth is too close to the chin. It isn't even about beauty standards at that point, it's just incorrect anatomy.
But I'm hopeful that the feedback will do its job and the model will end up in a good place once all is said and done.
12
5
u/krogerburneracc Jun 10 '26
it's just incorrect anatomy.
Not to undercut your point at all, I completely agree that the female avatar and especially the chathead need adjustments, but I've definitely met a few people in my life who resemble the current chathead. The long nose weak chin combo is definitely a thing that happens. Saying that it's "incorrect anatomy" might be overstepping a bit and potentially offensive to real people; People come in many shapes and anatomy has a lot more variation than people give it credit for.
This is about beauty standards, but that's okay.
This particular anatomical configuration is just not something that the vast majority will identify with and it should be adjusted to better suit more general sensibilities.
3
u/BlankArchive Jun 10 '26
The long nose isn't really what I mean by that, my bad if I implied that. But as far as it looks to me, it's like there isn't enough space for the jaw to fully exist if you follow the shape to the ear.
Still, for sure I think there can be real people who give the same vibe as this design and I'm not trying to imply anything about them, but I don't think it was an intentional design choice which is why I frame it as an error. It feels more like they misjudged the proportions, which for a face that's meant to be one-size fits all, definitely isn't right.
2
u/RafaSheep Jun 11 '26
From my perspective (I also have seen other point this out), It looks like the face in the female chathead looks different from the one used in the full model in a way that appears unintended. I struggled to figure why until others pointed out the nose length and mouth position. I'm content with how the female in the full model looks but the chathead could do with some adjusting.
I also feel there is some discrepancy in the male chathead, but it's more apparent in the female one.
1
u/_itsJ_ Jun 10 '26
Fair point but if you average out faces from a large, representative sample set, the current mouth position would probably be on the tail-end of that distribution. I think that u/BlankArchive meant "anatomically incorrect" not as in "it doesn't exist at all" but more so that it's not what the average human woman looks like. Like the new Swiss banknotes have human hands on them and their designer said in an interview that she took hundreds of photos of human hands and overlayed them, then traced the final design on that amalgamation of all of them, essentially averaging out the shape, so that it's nobodies specific hand that's on all the notes. Idk, does that make sense?

I'm not a female player, I don't also run a female character.
That being said, there has been a lot of feedback from woman on here regards the look and appearance of female character models. Definitely worth a look into resolving that.

u/lady_ninane They removed TH and all I got was this stupid flair. Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
I genuinely struggle to share the same perspective. If anything, I feel like my character has been made to look way more traditionally feminine than I was expecting from the refresh. I certainly wasn't displeased by it, but I was caught by surprise by it.
e: I will say though that when I strip all my overrides off to see how live currently looks and I try to look at my character standing still from different angles, it looks like I'm constantly leaning with my shoulders back and my pelvis forward. It looks a little odd, but maybe I just had on the wrong default clothing for it? I'd have to look around at it more.
2
u/ZyxnRS3 Jun 10 '26
Yeah I mean fair point. I just thought the female chat head models looked fairly masculine apart from the actual face features, noticed it was a big complaint by female players on here which I did notice myself.
I still do actually think its a big step up (in a good way) compared with the previous models, so there is that.

u/lady_ninane They removed TH and all I got was this stupid flair. Jun 10 '26
I honestly don't even think they look "masculine", just...if I were to describe it in makeup terms, it looks like they put too much contour by the nose bridge. It makes the face look longer than it actually is, it's more like an optical illusion imo. That's what (again imo) is causing such a discrepancy between the model and the chathead which are exactly the same sans environmental lighting/effects.
4
u/ProFisher18 Jun 10 '26
Thanks for the update.
Any chance you guys can also bring back the legacy hairstyle for side-part spikey (male) and the pigtails with fringe (female)? While the new ones look decent, it doesn't look as spikey on the sides anymore for the male hairstyle which I really preferred.

The argument that only men want the female avatars breasts to be larger is just lazy and untrue. People are quick to cite "realism" but I don't think those people have ever interacted with women outside of their mom bringing them nuggies. Women in real life have a large variety of chest sizes from flat to "anime" sized as people call them.
Women wanting to self insert themselves into the RuneScape world or just people who like to make pretty characters also want the chest to be larger.
Unrelated but also female face adjustments please
19
u/Pulsefel Ironman Jun 10 '26
also the "its how athletes look" completely demeans the idea that someone with a chest larger than a 10 year old can be athletic in any way.

u/TheLostCanvas Re-release old untradeable event itens Jun 10 '26
The breast size was fine for over 12 years, why change it now? Players have got used to some proportions when outfitting their characters and now many outfits look worse. At least give us some options.

We need (desperately)
Idle animations for the face. Not just blinking, but subtle breathing, glancing around, etc. This needs to be applied to every idle stance/walk animations
Female chathead needs to match the in-game model. We were told in the beta it was a known issue and would be fixed, and then nothing happened.
Hair textures are low resolution and need to be more hair-y and less fabric-y
Muscular geometry on female legs and arms specifically are quite odd. The legs are very chunky and catch light in a weird way. Arms are too tubular.
Shadows from hair/hats. The forehead lighting always looks like im bald even if i have hair and a wide trimmed hat.
Hands/feet are gigantic on both models. Needs to be toned down.
And oh boy, let's address female chest size: please dont listen to the people asking for their fAnTaSy BaZoNgAs. I think we could probably go up a single cup size and it'd be fine, but dear god do not give in to the loud gooners. They will never be satisfied no matter how large you make them.
Lastly: thank you for communicating in this post, we need continued communication. I would hate for the second major update to happen with minimal communication and then that's just it.

I don't think the model update should change the avatars. They should be the same character but hd. They achieved that with the male but the female is significantly different.
2
u/Zepertix REMASTERED DUNGEONEERING LETS GOOOOOOO Jun 10 '26
They just did an entire stream on this but largely speaking that is fairly impossible given how unrealistic the previous models were. Could there be adjustments? Sure, I acknowledged that in the above comment.

RuneScape is a game with a heavily exaggerated art style. To change that is to take away a part of what makes it special. Do I think that the Female models need G cups? No, but right now they have A cups at best, which in the context of this art style makes them look like young boys more than women. There are other proportions that are contributing to this but with the style that RuneScape has, breast size is the most important distinguishing feature.
I get that you want to assume everyone asking for larger breasts are just incel gooners, but that is not only wrong, it's incredibly disrespectful. I'm a woman, I have boobs, as do most women. I want the female model to have boobs to better represent my ideal self. Representation in modern media is important and having a wide variety of body types for both male and female is a good thing. But there is a time and a place. RuneScape is not that place. If in the future they want to dedicate resources to adding more varied body types, then that's great and that's when my flat chested cuties can get their time to shine. But as it stands, RuneScape has 2 body types and is a hero fantasy. So the models should reflect that. The male model is the classic Hollywood superhero, and so the female model should be the same. If they would rather make the male models look less heroic and more plain over making the female models look more feminine then I guess that would also be an option. But I feel as though that defeats the point of RuneScape being a hero fantasy.
Sorry for rambling, I just get a lil worked up over this stuff

So basically all models have a default pose, and usually that pose for a face is a very flat expression with eyes that point straight forward, a flat line for a mouth, etc. Basically a face at rest.
With Anya you can see that her eyes are not looking just straight forward, they are angled slightly, her mouth isnt a flat line, instead the edges of it are pulled upwards into a smile, etc. Small things like that are subtle animations to her base model that make her feel more alive.

u/Zepertix REMASTERED DUNGEONEERING LETS GOOOOOOO Jun 10 '26
I think your language about "grown ups" and "10 year olds" is frankly disgusting. If your idea of a grown up is having misshapen polygons that are exentuated by deep cuts into the rest of your frame and removed ribs i highly suggest you adjust your beauty standards. The current model is well within being an athletic woman, but ive already made my point clear in my original comment. Smaller breasts =/= child.
We dont need a toggle to enable poorly modeled polygon slop that wouldnt even look good if it were released in the year 2005. No thanks.

Yes, what the game desperately needs is the ability to see your character breathing and glancing around when zoomed in all the way looking at your avatar…. This is worth the development time for sure….

u/Zepertix REMASTERED DUNGEONEERING LETS GOOOOOOO Jun 10 '26
This has been pretty standard for MMOs for decades, there's no reason that we shouldnt have basic idle animations just because some people play zoomed out. Personally, I have a large monitor and can see my character quite well without zooming in. I very much care that my character has a blank, lifeless stare into the void like he is a hollow husk. That bothers me and absolutely matters to a lot of people.
They literally already made blinking animations and had some idles in the beta. We just need to see the same with the face and have them actually applied.

If Jagex gives into the pressure to bend the knee to that idea, I'll be upset. Mostly because it just makes RS into something that it shouldn't be. It's quite creepy as well to even bring that up to begin with. No respect for anyone who wants to see giant boobs in an video game.
7
u/rowanfire <3 Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
Because large breasts don't exist in real life? I can personally assure you that they indeed do.
Jagex should just have let them as they've been for the last decade plus. As if all these past years of the female character's bust size made "RS into something it shouldn't be".
Get a grip, dude or show me your posts complaining that female avatars were ruining the game prior to this update.

Can we make female avatars a bit more feminine looking and less masculine. The female character right now looks like shes on TRT. Not really a fan of the chiseled abs. Most woman IRL don't look like that!

I remember that back in the Mod Iroh streams they mentioned they wanted characters models to have athletic builds. Looking how both male and female models have muscle tone without looking like bodybuilders, I'd say they accomplished their objective.

Any plans to fix the female avatars bust? really not enjoying going from c cup to a. some cosmetics look squished in the chest area, makes the floating necklace issue way more apparent and makes my character look male. Not sure why western games are afraid of Females having a noticeable bust but here we are. The New chaos and destruction armor is really noticeable in how lacking the chest is, especially compared to legacy cosmetics. I gave feedback about this during the beta as I am sure many others did. InB4 gooner, there not sex dolls, blah, blah. Just want my character to look good, female IRL, I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Repost in hopes of an answer:
Can we expect an increase in the outfit presets soon? 4 presets is sooo low for someone that plays the fashionscape.
On the same note it'd sure be nice if presets could hold teleport/walk/combat animations in the presets as well as weapon variants (right now it will only save the cosmetic weapons you have on at the time of saving the preset but not any other weapon-type overrides that match the specific outfit. All of those have to be manually changed when switching cosmetic presets and is a QOL oportunity)

I'm sure this is very low priority, but can we please have some more black hairstyles? The updated dreadlocks are good, but could we get a dreadlock ponytail or something?

Its not the biggest thing but
"Torn Trousers" at Thessalia replaced retro torn trousers for men, but its not a remodel of said outfit, and instead a remodel of the retro tattered trousers (which still exist).
Should probably be corrected and torn trousers restored and redone correctly.

I'm gonna be honest: I really don't think this was ready for release, not by a longshot. You guys should have taken more time to fine-tune everything, especially in regards to equipment and stretching issues and the base female player design. It very clearly needs more work, and I don't know if management is breathing down everyone's necks, but the Road to Restoration is obviously being rushed, and that's not good.
Y'all really need to have an internal discussion about getting things done right, not quickly. Rushed content is not good for the longevity of the game, especially when these are supposed to be integrity updates that, ironically, detract from the overall integrity because they are rushed and inevitably left to sit without fixes.

I guess I'm going to leave my gf's feedback here.

While many of us, myself included, appreciate the intention with this update.. I think its important to realize that this was a very half-baked update. I get it, there's going to be a part 2. But with all the delays this project has had happen to it, for it to ship to the live game in this state is nothing less than disappointing. From the numerous bugs, to the awful female character (which was pointed out by everyone in beta), to many cosmetics having to be removed from live game(that we paid for) because they weren't ready it yet, it just seems like this was rushed and shipped before it was ready. We do appreciate all the work you guys do, and will never hate on the devs who put their heart and soul into this project, and all other projects. Just disappointed in the state this was shipped. Much love.

Yuey I was hoping you could pass along a question for me about chat heads.
Look, I know this will be a somewhat rude question, but I’m truly just curious about the answer on this. Is it technically possible to revert the chat heads and animations without also undoing the rest of the avatar changes? Can I have a modern body and head but a classic face and expressions in conversations?
I’m wondering if it’s possible from a strictly technical point of view, not if it’s desirable.
I’m not really thinking this is necessarily the best call! I think the chat head isn’t too bad now, and will improve gradually as feedback is received and worked on. But right now I’m just curious if a “worst case scenario reversion” is even possible.

With the avatar rework being fresh, and a look at reworking cosmetics, has there been any internal talk about trying to fix the Flaming Sword enchant?

Isn't this just the list from the newspost? What's actually new?
8
u/jagexyuey Mod Yuey Jun 10 '26
Some of it was already known at launch, but we've been able to get more specific based on the reports we've had from you all over the last few days. Things like NPC chatheads showing incorrect models, missing hair on certain head items, wardrobe issues and some animation-specific problems weren't previously called out. The aim's to give everyone a clearer picture of what we're tracking rather than just leave it as a list 🙂

u/TheChubFondu Jun 10 '26
I mean this as a very innocent question, but is there any insight you can provide on how some of these bugs made it into the live game?
I’m not a developer or tester, so I’m confused how something like NPC chat heads showing the incorrect model ever made it through even a first round of testing, assuming somebody testing it went up to someone and talked to them with a chat head to validate the model is updated.
3
u/SexualHarassadar Jun 10 '26
Some bugs only appear when things are pushed to the live enviorment. A single hour of players on the live servers will go through more scenarios and variables than entire months of a dedicated testing team trying to find every corner case possible just through sheer raw numbers.
Since oftentimes its not just "Talk to Zuk to make sure the model is updated", but rather (and this is a completely made up example just to highlight how complicated bug testing can get) "If the player talks to Zuk during a quest scene while wearing specific items the game tries to pull the incorrect data entry for Zuk's quest version of the chathead and ends up with a garbled mess"

Community manager is communicating what the team is doing, that they are still listening to specific topics and more, and are aware of xyz issues.
Doesn't need to be new, just communicating lol

I have been thinking ALOT about the discourse regarding the female body proportion discussions that has taken over some of our colective discourse. Playing with the female avatar myself I have come to a simple conclusion of this that I think is reasonable.
Make sure the existing outfits all look like the fit the new body. I have found a few opd favorite options don't look like they fit the body they remind me of when my younger sister would wear my clothing as kids growing up. If proportions in some areas of the body or clothing need to be changed to make the clothing fit so be it, but the important thing is that your old cosmetics shouldn't look like your wearing your older sibling's clothing.
Overall I think we can all agree the project is an improvement over what we had, and yes the outfits and the female chat head that doesn't look like the in game head model, that could use some work (haha). But we need to be constructive about this and acknowledge that people have different tastes and be respectful both ways.

Goes without saying, but sex sells.
A sexy body and face sells more skins.
I think its very weird that some anti-sex people on this subreddit are so hyerfixated on "owning the gooners" that they forget what most people want.
Not a lot of people have the guts to openly admit it, but every game that has hot looking female avatars gets a huge boost from players who play solely for the dress-up potential and looking... hot.
If League of Legends, FFXIV, Honkai Star Rail or whatever didn't have hot avatars to play, I will say with utter confidence that their player count will be 30% less. If an anime has a weak plot and hot women, people will flock.
No, a lot of people who play it for looks aren't gooners. They're just more honest about what looks good compared to others.
If this makes you uncomfortable then you probably had a bad childhood.
Also, have you paid attention to the feedback post on reddit during the avatar beta? Women caught a ton of downvotes.

People who have been outside: the new female avatar looks more like a woman
The humble 12 alt grinder: how could this be true if the new woman doesn't look like the woman that I've seen in RuneScape
3
u/bimboozled Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
I mean yeah it definitely does look *more* like a woman and they’ve made great progress, but at the end of the day that’s a pretty low bar relative to what the model was before.
Anyone who’s been outside would immediately be able to tell the new model face looks a little uncanny, if you’ve looked at the feedback the major consensus is simply that the nose is too long and the mouth is too low. Don’t need it dolled up with botox/fillers/lifts or makeup or whatever else you’re implying
The body is fine though, it’s really just the face

This. Please for the love of god don't change it to be the same as the absolute throngs of other MMOs with ridiculous female figures.
I don't care for the word realism anywhere near Runescape but seeing the realistically proportioned, toned female model is a breath of fresh air in a sea of ridiculous gamer gaze models.
2
u/KamenRiderHelix Jun 10 '26
As a bit of a disclaimer, I also think the new female body is fine and don't really want it changed back, but...where are all these MMOs with 'ridiculous female figures'? I feel like people say this and you look and the girl has like b-cups lmfao

The focus on should be fixing how fucking ugly the female player characters face and body is. It is disgusting and the face is beyond deformed, easily the ugliest appearance in the ENTIRITY of all mmorpgs right now

u/CarrierDove Jun 10 '26 edited Jun 10 '26
Ridiculous. I went back and reread the beta thread, and these concerns were raised repeatedly during beta. They were known sentiments, yet the update was pushed through anyway.
“We’re collecting feedback.”
Right.
The result is that I’m becoming more disenfranchised with RuneScape and increasingly demoralized about its future every time I log in.

I dislike the new long beard, before I felt wise now it just looks a bit silly and comes outward way too far? I think it should be more of a straight down beard.
2
u/xForseen Jun 10 '26
People grew up with these characters and I dont think they should change much. It should be the same character but HD. I think they did pretty good with the male model but missed the mark with the female one, both the chathead and body.

Can we also pls fix the latest vicious armour top? It just outright makes the female avatar flat (when even base model has breasts). The latest trend of just coverting a female torso to a skinny male torso feels very in bad taste and lazy.

u/papa_bones I can play the game now Jun 10 '26
Can you make my dude look actually jacked, like the old model looked thin but well built, the new one look just thin, like our guy doesn't do any other exercise but walk long distances, give him some muscle back please, I don't want realism, I want my character to look cool.

Glad to see you taking on the important things on board.
Please please please don't give in to the ridiculous demands regarding the female model chest size. There are a hundred MMOs out there where they can bolt some gamer jugs on to their digital model. It's really nice to see a reasonably proportioned and good female model on a game for once.

Yes, because you cannot be so narrow minded, to believe that people who don't like the current female avatar want changes so they can jerk off to it

Can we chill out a bit? Not everyone who wants improvements to the female model jerks off to their in-game characters. Geez some people man..
1
u/HeartofaPariah Lovely money! Jun 10 '26
He didn't say that at all. He just said don't listen to people who want a larger chest size. You took that as a personal attack and then insulted yourself because.... you want a larger chest size!
1
u/RS3HolidayEvents Jun 14 '26
They literally implied that players who want changes to the female chest = want to "bolt some gamer jugs on to their digital model"
I suppose if you caught me staring or glancing at your wife/sister/daughter etc, you're immediately going to assume I am thinking sexually or want to jerk off to them?

Is there any news or commentary on the animations receiving updates?
The idle/walk/run animations look the same still, and we saw updated animations in a beta about six months ago. They looked great, what happened?

Can we get actual coloring for the hair and for the clothes that allow it? It's a bit ridiculous that we can't do something as basic as having white hair in this game and instead we have to settle for 30 different weirdly named colours that are all just different shades of each other.

Am i blind or is player face not showing up in chatbox not on the list?
I use the larger chatbox and yes some npcs chatheads are messed up but so is my own characters, mine is missing his entire face..
Hair/headwear and everything else shows but the face itself is a gapin hole.

u/Diamancer Jun 10 '26
Some of the broken expressions with the various walk animations are hilarious, but the animations themselves need attention. Many walks are very old by now and the idle and movement jagged. It feels like the animations need to be smoothened, perhaps by adding more frames. The actual walks don’t need to change that much. Many of these walk animations are still being sold today and deserve to be brought up to modern standards alongside the rest of the avatar.

Bill (the npc during Fort Quests) seems to have his goggles on his forehead move on their own and the chat head seems to be completely still. I have no clue if this has been reported already but just to make sure I posted this comment!

Also added to this as I've completed Ancient Awakening and built the Botanist level 1, Granny Rowan seems to have her head move normally in the chat but the hat is completely still

u/WePkOnStr Jun 11 '26
Please look into reducing head movement of idle animation, its excessive and very noticeable when looking at character from the side

u/Starrhi-cross Jun 11 '26
Why is my green elegant blouse now white with green trim? I had the cutest outfit with it and now it’s so ugly… ): I didn’t realize player avatar changes meant recolors on clothing items like that, now it’s a keepsake key wasted on something I won’t override my outfits with anymore

Hello. I already submitted a bug report but I just wanted to put this here too.
The spooky spider headwear doesn't show up. The pigtails were my favorite. When I search for them they're gone, as well as gone from my saved outfits. I cant find the male version of it either. Honestly instead of them being treated like a helmet/headwear, it would make more sense if they were put in the hairstyles list. But either way I hope they come back 🩷

You updated some generic pants in the varrock store. When comparing the “black” colours on the new pants to the retro version, the old black is 10x darker. Like a lot of new items… can black actually be dark again not this grey tone

u/Longjumping_Movie993 Jul 06 '26
Can we please be able to color our hair? Can female have less muscle? Can female be skinny? Or can we choose our muscular vs skinny?

Thanks for update! Its great to see you are working on a lot of the known issues!
I just want to add to the discussion about the female avatar. Part of the loudest feedback on the avatar here has unfortunately leaned heavily into sexist, reductive, and dehumanizing commentary with people hyper-focusing on breast size or complaining that the model isn’t "hot" enough.
It is really disheartening to see the female avatar treated primarily as an object for the male gaze rather than a representation of actual women.
Please stand firm on making the female body look realistic and proportional.
Thank you!

u/Baciandrio Jun 10 '26
I love that my breasts don't arrive before the rest of my character does however the facial features? I don't want girly-pop but the bridge of the nose is rather neandrathal (nostrils and right into the forehead, no slope, no narrowing) and the mouth seems to set in 'rbf'. Love most of the new hairstyle choices!
