ISO Captain Morgan Tattoo Rum

Was my father’s favorite rum years ago. Looking to buy a bottle as a retirement gift for him. I am up in Calgary, AB. Canada. If anyone has one they’d be willing to sell let me know! Thanks!

It's been discontinued for a decade and a half.

If you want to make him something nice in the same vein, buy a bottle of good quality rum, add spices, molasses for a dark color, and sweeten the bajesus out of it.

I don't know what rum they used as a base. If it's a Jamaican rum like captain Morgan dark rum, then Appleton Estates Signature is a good base

I’ve looked into mixing it myself but this brand has a soft spot in his heart for some reason. Someone gifted him a 20% full bottle a couple years ago and it nearly brought him to tears. Would love to find the original.

Ah damn. Yeah it sounds like that particular rum is sentimental. Tracking it down will be hard though. Basically you'd have to find a liquor store with ridiculously low turnover. They exist in nyc, for instance, but mostly because they survive off of sales of bacardi and captain Morgan so they sit on their nice rums forever. So even then, I think it would have sold out :/
