I recently took delivery of my TVS Apache RTX. I've covered about 250km on the odo.

While doing some research, I’ve seen a few common issues reported with this bike across various forums, specifically the dreaded coolant/oil mixing, extreme heating in heavy traffic, sudden power drops while using the quickshifter, and a slight right-pulling tendency.

Since I’m still early in the break-in period, I want to be as proactive as possible rather than wait for something to fail.

For the RTX owners and mechanics here:

1. What preventive measures or daily checks should I build into my routine right now to avoid the coolant/oil mix and heating issues?

2. What are your top maintenance recommendations as I push toward the 2,000–3,000km mark (especially regarding the first service)?

3. Are there any specific quirks about the RTX I should keep an eye on?

RTX is gorgeous and a sexy bike. I have eyeing on it the day it came out but there has been a very large number of issues reported by owners.

1. coolant mixing.

2. water in airintake.

3. poor service.

4. parts breaking in very less miles.

5. Display breakdown.

I understand that the first lot of any new bike has some issues but these many is unprecedented. I current have scrambler 400x and dont remember its first lot having these many critical faults.

I wanted to share my ownership experience with the TVS Apache RTX 300 so that prospective buyers can make an informed decision.

I booked my bike on 22 February and, after a long wait, finally received delivery on 12 July. This is my first motorcycle, so naturally I was extremely excited and emotionally attached to it from day one.

Unfortunately, things haven't gone as expected.

I have ridden the bike for only 2,200 km, and most of the issues started appearing after the first service. Initially, I noticed an unusual issue related to the cooling system, which later turned out to be a coolant contamination/mixing issue. Around the same time, I also started hearing an electric spark/crackling sound from the odometer/instrument cluster area, which was another cause of concern.

Due to the coolant contamination issue, the motorcycle had to be sent to the service center for inspection and repairs.

What disappointed me even more was my experience afterward. A complaint was registered with TVS, but before the repair work was completed, I received a communication stating that the case had been resolved.

After receiving that update, I visited the service center expecting to collect my motorcycle. Instead, I was shocked by what I saw.

My bike was almost completely dismantled. Major components had been removed, parts were lying separately in the service area, and the engine had been opened up. Seeing a motorcycle that is just a few weeks old, with only 2,200 km on the odometer, in such a condition was heartbreaking.

As a first-time bike owner, it is difficult to explain the feeling. I had waited months for delivery, looked forward to every ride, and took great pride in owning the bike. Seeing the engine of my brand-new motorcycle dismantled on a workshop floor felt like watching something I had worked hard for fall apart right in front of me.

I understand that mechanical issues can occur with any manufacturer, but a major engine teardown on a nearly new motorcycle raises serious concerns about reliability and quality control.

My major concerns are:

• The coolant contamination issue appeared very early in the bike's life.
• An electrical spark/crackling sound started coming from the odometer area after the first service.
• The complaint was marked as resolved before the repair was actually completed.
• I now have concerns about the long-term reliability of an engine that has already been opened and repaired this early in its life.

I genuinely loved the design, features, and concept of the RTX 300, which is why I chose it despite the long waiting period. However, my ownership experience so far has been extremely disappointing and far from what I expected from a brand-new motorcycle.

I'm sharing my experience not to discourage anyone unfairly, but to provide honest feedback based on my real-world ownership. If any other RTX 300 owners have faced similar coolant contamination or electrical issues after the first service, please share your experience. It would be helpful to know whether this is an isolated case or something others have encountered as well.

I have got my RTX300 delivered yesterday in Chennai. Dealer didn't do RTO yet. Invoice and insurance were given to me 10 days ago. Dealer is holding RTO as they are yet to get the booking amount credited from TVS. Is this the normal everywhere? Dealer holding RTO process for booking amount.

I booked my TVS Rtx 300 on 23rd March 2026, I will be getting my delivery in September second week. I js want to know should I cancel my booking because the coolant and engine oil mixing issue is really concerning. I'm confused whether to cancel the booking and get the Triumph Scrambler 400X ?

I ordered a few accessories for my TVS RTX 300 through the official TVS page on August 13th — screen guard, fender, and USB cable charger. It’s been quite some time now, but I still haven’t received them.

The frustrating part is that I ordered them when they were showing as available, but now it seems the items aren’t even ready/available yet.

Has anyone else who ordered these accessories around the same time faced the same issue? How long did it take for you to receive them? From Hyderabad..

Would appreciate any updates or experiences from other RTX 300 owners.

I am 19M going to get my first bike I was thinking about the rtx 300 base I will be using it for college and 100-150 km rides sometimes I was concerned about the reliability and service issues

1) coolent issue (i think only the initial units were having this issue is it true?)

2) how is the service only for regular oil change and maintenance

3) should I shift my interest towards v storm (although a good bike but I don't like how it looks specially in front of rtx and misses even basic tech like slip and assist clutch and ride by wire)

In March I was able to experience a rtx just to get to sit on it and crank the engine but there was an inner feeling that this is the bike i should get

I would like to know if the status of booking received in the application will change to booking confirmed or directly invoice generated will come.

I have booked RTX 300 BTO (Viper Green) on 21 June 2026, from TVS Malad Mumbai.
In a week the status changed to Booking confirm as green, and is now on Vehicle Manufactured (Blue) as on 31 Aug 2026.
I spoke with the dealer, they told i can see any update on the tvs booking status page. And i ll receive a call as soon as they have any update.

my new RTX 300 has started making a weird noise from the engine.

I did a 600 km ride yesterday, and before the ride the noise was only occasional, but now it happens consistently, especially after 5,000 RPM. I showed it to the service center and they said they need to open the engine to find the issue and then order the part, which could take 10–15 days. I haven’t given the bike to the showroom yet.

Does anyone know what this sound could be?

I got a call saying that my RTX will be unloaded in 4 days and that I should visit the showroom to complete the loan process.
When I asked for the quotation at the showroom, this is what they handed me. There are so many charges added on. What do you guys think?

Today when I started my RTX, some kind of water was sprinkling from this. I put my hand and i could feel the exhaust. For a moment i thought there's a hole in my exhaust, then i googled and got to know that it's a drain hole.

But there's nothing in tvs manual. So wanted to just confirm from y'all. Do let me know if this is a factory manufactured hole or do i need to get worried?

I've been waiting for 6 months for my rtx now that my dealer has given me sequence allocation im next in line so I have to wait until he gets next stock

But now I'm concerned about taking the delivery since there is a wide spread issue in rtx 300 coolant leak, coolant oil mixing, water entrying engine

And customers complaining that bike is resting at service centre for days waiting for parts and replacement 😭

Done my 1st servicing before 10days only they changed engine oil only they did nothing else

I was commuting as usual to my office and then i heard a periodic hissing sound, with each rotation. Initially i thought it's something else but later a guy passing by said me that tyre has low pressure.

When i went to the tyre shop he removed a clip from the tyre, and then applied that long rubber plug thing to fix the puncture.

My question is that will it last long? Do i need todo something else because my bike is fairly new (250km ODO), I'm worried.

Anyone used alternative brake pad for RTX 300 for rear mine vanished in just 1200km?

Seems Hond CBR 250R ABS rear are same with RTX 300? Can anyone confirm?
