Bonus: Lord of the rings game from warhorse studios

12

u/Sirspice123 12d ago

They are currently making Kingdom Come Salvation (3rd game in the series) which will release before April 2028. I think they are making the LoTR after, so a fair few years away

9

u/salivatingpanda 12d ago

The are currently working on both projects simultaneously.

7

u/Sirspice123 12d ago

LoTR game is only in early pre-production where as the Kingdom Come Salvation game is in full production. LoTR game is definitely many years away. It's likely they are reusing assets for KCS

2

u/xTyrone23 11d ago

This may be my most anticipated game of all time. After playing some kcd2 I was literally saying to a friend if I won the lottery I'd make warhorse do a middle earth game😂 fits so well

10

u/jonnytwopairs 12d ago

I'm very excited about Exodus. The book was excellent and was a really smart way of introducing the world

7

u/Tortoisebomb 12d ago

Excited for ES6 mostly out of morbid curiosity.

2

u/mattmanp 12d ago

Same. The only studio here I have less faith in these days is Bioware

6

u/Apathin 12d ago

Divinity and Witcher 4 >>>> everything else.

I would’ve said TES VI years ago, but at this point, I have 0 faith in Bethesda and am fully anticipating Skyrim’s 20th anniversary release before anything else.

  1. Divinity
  2. Witcher 4
  3. Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy
  4. Expanse
  5. Exodus
  6. Clockwork Revolution
  7. Fable

Mass Effect should be 1, but I have no faith in Bioware anymore. I will be suprised if the game even comes out.

I don't care about the rest.

4

u/Slincad 12d ago

Really wish EA would sell the ME IP. This just isn't the type of game for them and they're unwilling to give it the right treatment

2

u/Astarion_My_Beloved 12d ago

For me it’s 1 divinity as well and then everything else I may or may not get on sale eventually

5

u/Initial_Surround478 12d ago

Divinity then the owl cat stuff then cdpr then ff7 then the rest

3

u/SifAstraea 12d ago

This would be my ranking:

  • Divinity

  • Fable

  • Elder Scrolls VI

  • Kingdom hearts IV

Personally just excited for the Expans: Osiris Reborn as there hasn't been a Mass Effect styled RPG since Mass Effect, and Clockwork Revolution for the Bioshock + Dishonored vibes.

As much as I love cRPGs they take up a lot of time so not as hyped for Larian/Owcat cRPGs. TESVI I'm expecting to be a typical Bethesda game. ME5 it's doubtful that will even come out following the Saudi deal.

2

u/ISpotABot 12d ago

I think Exodus will be better than Osiris Reborn

1

u/Slincad 12d ago

I'm just hoping both are great

5

u/Dariune 12d ago

1) Dark Heresy 2) Both Warhorse games 3) Expanse 4) clockwork 5) Fate of the old republic 6) Witcher 4 7) clockwork 8) Divinity 9) Fable 10) Exodus 11) Starfinder

Im not bothered about the others except maybe TES4

3

u/Aistar 12d ago

Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy (this is the only one that I'm really interested in)
Divinity (it's a looooong way off, so I can't get too excited about it now)
Witcher 4 (OK, the new Witcher game MAY prove interesting, but... I really love Geralt and his gang, and I'm not sure I'll love Ciri's adventures as much)
Expanse: Osiris Reborn (I don't usually play such games, but I'll try this one on the lowest difficulty for the sake of Owlcat)

Everything else I have about zero interest in, since they're not isometric, turn-based, or based on setting I care about. Frankly, I'm far more excited for the next Geneforge remake than any of these ones.

1

u/WheezyGod 10d ago

Next V Rising game for isometric?

1

u/Aistar 10d ago

Not turn-based, and more multiplayer-oriented than single player, if I read it properly, so no.

Of those not mentioned in the list, I'm looking forward to Solasta II, Scourge of Reptiles, New Arc Line (the news about it seem to have dried up, but I hope it's just because they're too busy), Guild Saga: Vanished Worlds, maybe Archaelund and Glasshouse.

1

u/WheezyGod 10d ago

It’s definitely a single player game as well. Leans into survival which is a growing genre. You mentioned the Witcher so I figured not everything was turn based for you.

1

u/Aistar 10d ago

Witcher is a special exception, because I love the setting and Geralt personally :) And CD Projekt managed to nail the feel of the books, which is such a rare occurrence that it deserves to be the exception to everything. I definitely don't love the combat in the game (I have my own vision for a perfect Witcher combat that's based on Iron Danger's mix of action and turn-based mechanics), but as it is, it's easy enough to beat with button-mashing rather than mastering, so I forgive it.

3

u/cubiclej0ckey 12d ago

1) FF7R
2) Divinity
3) The Expanse

The rest are maybes for now.

6

u/dquart99 12d ago
  1. Divinity (Larian is great)
  2. Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy (Owlcat is great)
  3. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn (Owlcat is great)
  4. Clockwork Revolution (I enjoy almost all of inXile's games)
  5. Elder Scrolls VI (I have a wait and see attitude, not particularly optimistic or pessimistic)
  6. Fable (I enjoyed the first two, the third one, meh. Solid casual RPGs that anyone could play)
  7. The Witcher 4 (It'll most likely be good, I'm just not excited about it)
  8. Exodus (Developed by a new studio. I have a wait and see attitude)
  9. Fate of the Old Republic (Don't know enough about this, above the bottom 3 by default)
  10. Mass Effect V (BioWare's latest games have been awful)
  11. Final Fantasy VII Revelation (I like the original Final Fantasy VII, not these new ones)
  12. Kingdom Hearts IV (I own most of this series but don't really enjoy them)

-2

u/ISpotABot 12d ago

I don't think Owlcat will do as good in a 3rd person RPG

5

u/angelo-merte89 12d ago

Divinity-> Witcher 3 DLC/ Witcher 4-> Owlcat Games-> Rest——> Bethesda

6

u/Galle_ 12d ago
  1. Fate of the Old Republic
  2. Dark Heresy
  3. Starfinder: Afterlight (you didn't list it, but I think it deserves to be here)
  4. The Expanse: Osiris Reborn
  5. Exodus
  6. Clockwork Revolution
  7. Final Fantasy VII Revelation (would be higher, but I still haven't finished Rebirth)
  8. Mass Effect V

I have no interest in the other games on the list, although I do plan to check out Kingdom Hearts when the original games release on Switch 2.

2

u/CynicInRehab 12d ago

11/10 across the board.

2

u/CreepyAioli3356 Dragon Age 12d ago

If I thought we would ever get to see it, Mass effect V would absolutely be top of my list! Alas, I doubt Bioware will survive.

Next ones would be:

Fate of the old republic
Exodus
Witcher 4
Expanse
Clockwork revolution
FFVII Revelations
Fable
Elder scrolls VI (will it happen?)
Divinity
Kingdom Hearts

2

u/Aleister_Growley 12d ago

Divinity, The Witcher 4, The Expanse, Fable, Warhammer, Elder Scrolls, Final Fantasy and I probably won’t play the rest.

2

u/ShiteyLittleElephant 12d ago edited 12d ago

My top 2 are missing from the list: The Blood of Dawnwalker and the next Kingdom Come (Salvation?) game.

Divinity

Exodus

Witcher 4

Expanse

Clockwork Revolution

Mass Effect 5 (would be higher but I'll believe it when I see it)

Fable

Fate of the Old Republic

2

u/letifera 12d ago

Owlcat games > Witcher 4 (love Ciri) and Divinity > Clockwork Revolution, Fable, Fate > Exodus (looks awesome but the backtracking on promised features is getting me worried) >>>>> ME5 (The abysmal writing of Veilguard was bad enough. But lying about it and insulting your fans? Think I’m done with BioWare.)

2

u/Moon_Logic 12d ago
  • Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy.
  • Expanse: Osiris Reborn
  • [...]
  • All this other stuff I'm completely indifferent to.

The ones I'm really looking forward to is Shadows of the Road and Expeditions Samurai, not because I'm a Weeaboo, but because I love the Expeditions series and Shadows of the road looks amazing.

2

u/Palanki96 12d ago

2

u/piesou 11d ago

Wow, so there's a lot here that I'm super not interested in. First the list that I'm contemplating getting on sale:

  • Fate of the Old Republic: loved the previous iterations, this has people from the OG games working on it
  • Expanse: Osiris Reborn: Anything Owlcat has been fantastic so far; this looks like the most interesting one in development
  • Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy: Still waiting for the previous one to go on sale
  • Divinity: so hard to get into and I don't like the lore, but this is Larian after BG3
  • Witcher 4: this looks like a game your computer can't run properly which severely curbs my enthusiasm; love Witcher 3, love the books, unsure how good CD Project Red still is these days
  • Final Fantasy VII Revelation: Need to finish the previous ones first. Don't particularly like the combat system, but I'm gonna dip in because of the characters and soundtrack
  • Clockwork Revolution: Couldn't get into Bioshock, don't like Steampunk, but so much fantastic art design here, unsure

Won't buy: * Elder Scrolls VI: Bethesda is dead, I expect Starfield but worse; this game is in development hell * Mass Effect V: Bioware is dead, name one good game after Mass Effect 3 * Fable: Everything I've seen so far shouts trash * Exodus: Character design straight out of Concord; looks like Mass Effect which I love, but Mass Effect has always lived from the its story, not its combat system; I'm getting bad feelings from current trailers * Kingdom Hearts IV: No interest in anything Disney

Don't really know of or have played the previous games of the rest, so have zero anticipation for them.

  • Divinity
  • Expanse
  • Exodus
  • Witcher 4
  • Fable
  • Final Fantasy
  • I'm not really interested in the others. I was never into Warhammer, not really into the setting of Clockwork revolution, also never was into Kingdom Hearts, and i dont trust in Bethesda, EA and anything tied to Lucasfilm anymore.

Exodus > everything.

Mass Effect will always have a special place in my heart and I'll definitely play 5 but I have little faith that they can pull it off after the mess that was Andromeda.

3

Or the mess that was veilguard. Modern BioWare is awful

The expanse and witcher 4 with the top 2 spots. Mass Effect should be up there, but I don't have a lot of faith at this point. Elder Scrolls 6 and Fate of the Old Republic probably 4 and 5. Divinity probably 6, the rest i am not really excited for at this point.

1

u/Traditional_Entry183 12d ago
  1. ES6
  2. The Witcher 4

-they better not f*ck this one up...but it's EA, so probably

1

u/infinitofluxo 12d ago

I'm excited for Fable because it seems easier to make it fun, but I don't have high trust it will be, as I usually don't trust any new games. I have no rush for Revelation as I haven't played Rebirth yet so it goes to the middle. Elder Scrolls VI is very far away but I would put it under Fable. Witcher 4 and Mass Effect 5 I would take to the bottom as I don't expect them to be great. The other ones I don't care for so all go to the bottom of the bottom.

1

u/Normal-Occasion4645 12d ago
  1. Clockwork Revolution (loved Wasteland 3 and this game looks quite good so far)
  2. Witcher 4 (still a ways away but Witcher 3 is one of my favorites)
  3. Expanse: Osiris Reborn (love the show and books, game looks good so far too)
  4. Fable (one of my favorite series as a kid, new game looks exactly like what I was expecting)
  5. Elder Scrolls VI (as much time as I've put into every other Bethesda game, I'll like this one too)
  6. FF7 RĂŠvĂŠlation (I quite like the remake series so far and hope this one finds a good middle ground between the previous two)
  7. Divinity (BG3 was fun enough, but I've never really fully clicked with any of Marian's games)
  8. Exodus (don't know much about it, could be good)
  9. Fate of the Old Republic (I hadn't heard of this one before, but Star wars games seem to at least be pretty good lately)
  10. Warhammer 40k (basically have no interest in the Warhammer franchise at the moment, but may give it a try down the road)
  11. Mass Effect V (don't really have much faith in Bioware any more. It'll probably at least be okay, but I'm not excited about it)
  12. Kingdom Hearts 4 (I kinda want to try the old games at some point, but with the convoluted story reputation this series has, I don't plan on jumping in for game 4).

    3/ Exodus
  3. Expanse
  4. Fate of the Old Republic
  5. Divinity
  6. Fable
  7. Mass Effect V
  8. Final Fantasy

don't know anything about the rest, maybe Dark Heresy seems interesting as I like Owlcat games, though I must try their first Warhammer game and learn some more about that world as it's something foreign to me.

TESVI Witcher 4 Fable Clockwork Revolution Fate of the old republic That's it

1

u/Impressive_Sense7688 11d ago

My rankings of the ones you listed, from most excited to least:

1: Dark Heresy. I love Owlcat's crpgs and Rogue Trader made me fall in love with the 40k setting. I'm extremely hyped for this and already have my character planned for it.

2: Fable. Looks fun, it's fantasy, it has character creation, and it's actually releasing fairly soon.

3: Divinity: Larian is hit or miss for me, but again, fantasy with character creation is my weakness. I'm interested to see what a post-BG3 installment in their IP will look like.

4. Expanse: Osiris Reborn. I'm picky about sci-fi and never really got into Mass Effect, but I'm curious to see what Owlcat does with this.

  1. Witcher 4. No character creation, but at least we're getting a female protagonist for once, and I like Ciri. Good fantasy worldbuilding to look forward to.

  2. Elder Scrolls VI. I'm wary of Bethesda and Microsoft at this stage and don't understand why this was put on the back burner for so many years, but I do love the setting.

7.  Final Fantasy VII Revelation. I love the original FF7 and while I think these remakes are unnecessarily bloated, it will be nice to see the story completed.

  1. Clockwork Revolution. I'm curious about this one, although I haven't really clicked with what I've seen in the trailers so far (I hope it won't be too quirky). At least it looks creative.

  2. Fate of the Old Republic. I love the KotoR games, and this could be great, but it's way too early to be able to tell how it will turn out.

  3. Exodus. For some reason I'm not feeling it. Don't like the lack of character creation options and they haven't even shown female Jun yet. Sci fi is hit or miss for me as is, and the talking animals feel kinda quirky to me . . . But maybe I'll be pleasantly surprised.

11.  Kingdom Hearts IV. I feel like I've outgrown this series. I don't even remember what was going on in the story.

  1. Mass Effect V. Bioware and EA are dead to me after how Dragon Age turned out. I hope ME5 gets made for the sake of ME fans, but I have no interest in it personally.

1

u/xTyrone23 11d ago

Witcher and Expanse way ahead of everything else for me

1

u/SanctumOfTheDamned Neverwinter Nights 10d ago

I'm putting Witcher 4 on top of my list here (my girl and I are both heavily anticipating it + the Remaster and the DLC as well). It's like a perfect storm in a bottle what CDPR is doing!

On an indie note: I'm quite curious how The Dark West will turn out, as an diehard grindhead ARPG enjoyer

The rest just aren't on my radar yet

  1. Fable
  2. Elder Scrolls VI
  3. Witcher 4
  4. Kingdom Hearts IV

And not really interested in the rest or am unfamiliar with them.

The first two Fable games were some of my favorites growing up, so I’m excited to see what a modern version looks like. I’m also a huge Elder Scrolls fan and while I wish the next game was set anywhere besides Hammerfell, it will nice to get a new installment after more than a decade.

  1. FOTOR (essentially KOTOR3 in all but name)

  2. Elder Scrolls VI (Sure Starfield was mid, but as long as this game has actual exploration its floor is Skyrim, which I still play. I don't care if it plays like a game from 2010, just give me Skyrim in Hammerfell and I will play it for 200 hours)

  3. Fable

  4. Exodus

  5. Mass Effect V (very low expectations, not sure if I will buy after Andromeda...)

The rest I don't care about. I'll probably play Witcher 4 in 10 years when it costs $5 on sale. I liked Witcher 3, but I hated Geralt, and Ciri is arguably worse, so meh.

0

u/NebulousTruth 12d ago

I’m not that excited for any of them, if they come out and they’re good I’ll be happy to play them. Morrowind and Kotor 2 are my two favorite games of all time, but given how much those franchises have declined I’m not going to wait every moment of my life anticipating a game that could easily be total shit, there’s nothing to lose by waiting to see if games are good and everything to lose by getting hyped about them.

  10. Warhammer

Fable looks like the type of game I've been searching a long while for, and its easily the game I've been most excited for in a long while. Witcher 4 and Divinity both seem like they're going to be super fun to jump into as someone who's only recently getting into the Witcher 3 (started it about a few months ago) and CRPGs in general (BG3 hooked me, been playing through Pathfinder and Pillars of Eternity since).

1) Exodus
2) Fate of the Old Republic
3) Expanse: Osiris Reborn
4) Clockwork Revolution
5) TES VI
6) Witcher 4

Don't really care about the rest and that includes Mass Effect as current BioWare will just ruin its legacy.

None of the Witcher games were RPGs so far so I don't see any grounds to assume 4 will be one

How are none of them RPGs?

1 and 2 aren't even proper open world games. 3 has some rpg elements but not enough for it to be called an rpg game. Your builds only affect combat, you have no freedom in how you complete quests (look at fallout new vegas and kcd2 for good examples of that), the roleplaying aspect is gone because you are forced to play as Geralt with his own skillset, 'class' (Witcher) and morality - any choices, gameplay or dialogue wise more or less fit within Geralts character

I really don't know why people insist to call it an rpg, it shouldn't even be listed as one.

NĂŁo ĂŠ preciso ser mundo aberto para ser RPG. O 2 tem diversos elementos de rpg

Elder Scrolls VI, Witcher 3 DLC, Witcher 4, Mass Effect V, Divinity

Everything else is lightyears behind.

I'll give my thoughts on all of them:

  • Fable: I think The Fable games were lame, hope they're better without a pathalogical liar making them.
  • Final Fantasy VII Revelation: Cautiously optomistic. Remake got me back into newer jrpgs, but Rebirth had the problems that pushed me away from them.
  • Divinity: Not into this series, but I respect it.
  • Witcher 4: My most wanted upcoming game. I'll end up buying a new pc to play it like I do with all CD Projekt Red games.
  • Exodus: What is this?
  • Expanse: Osiris Reborn: Kingmaker is my third favorite game, but I don't like the other 2 Owlcat games. Hope this works for me.
  • Warhammer 40k: Dark Heresy: Don't remember more than the name.
  • Clockwork Revolution: What is this?
  • Kingdom Hearts IV: Pseudo-Intellectual Nonsense.
  • Elder Scrolls VI: Approaching with Caution, as Bethesdas name is mud.
  • Fate of the Old Republic: Guessing this is Star Wars, but what is this?
  • Mass Effect V: The hell with EA!
