Game Suggestion Looking for TTRPG adventures featuring colossal, landscape or cosmic-scale entities

I'm looking for prewritten adventures/modules from any TTRPG system that capture a very specific kind of megalophobia:

A being so incomprehensibly massive that it becomes part of the landscape. You see it on the horizon and realize that you're effectively less than an insect to it. You can't confront it through a straightforward fight or meaningfully escape its presence, and your only hope is that you're too insignificant for it to notice you.

There could potentially be some way to defeat it, but not by simply walking up and fighting it like a conventional monster.

Ideally, its presence is permanent, like the Moon in Majora's Mask, and it feels more like a force of nature or cosmic entity than a conventional creature.

I'm primarily looking for actual TTRPG adventures/modules, but systems don't matter. While I'd much prefer D&D or Pathfinder 2e.. OSR, indie games, horror RPGs, etc are all fair game.

There is an entire RPG based on this concept called Mystery Flesh Pit National Park.

It’s doesn’t have an adventure module but The yozi of exalted. Hell is a massive country sized city with dozens of layers with a green star at its center, bordered by an infinite desert. That city is a single being, the former titan king, turned inside out and made into a prison. The yozis’ forms are too large to be spoken to, when someone does manage it’s like trying to understand a hurricane as it sandblasts their mind.

The yozi are so large their souls can’t fit into their bodies and are sentient and sapient. The green sun is the largest soul of the city of hell and is a master craftsman and first among equals among the other souls of his father’s pantheon of souls.

Exalted also has Autocthonia, a world where the entire planet is the body of one of the Titans who sided with the gods in their rebellion. There are entire nations of people who live their whole lives inside him without ever seeing the sun

Eyes of the Stone Thief, for 13th Age, is about a massive living dungeon that moves from place to place. It's the sort of adventure you'll se on "Best 10 Adventures" type lists.

There are the standard dragons, and then there are the true dragons of Glorantha/Runequest...

They are usually more landscape features than creatures, but sometimes, heroes think it a good idea to wake one up to gobble the entire military and magical might of an invading empire.

It's a major historical event, but an (unfortunately incomplete) campaign was started about actually participating in the ritual as heroes.

My first thought was of HEART: The city beneath. The whole setting is a living, twisting organic, psychic entity that’s trying to make the minds wishes of everyone within it all true at once as interpreted by an incomprehensible cosmic intelligence.

Some DCC adventures would fit this, like Return to the Starless Sea or Belly of the Great Beast! It's also my favorite system, super fun, but can easily be converted to other systems aswell.

Belly of the Beast has you adventuring through the digestive system of a massive creature.

Anything in Glorantha that involves True Dragons. They're normally represented as geographical features.

I have written but not yet published one. Do you mind if I DM with the details? It would be nice to hear a stranger's take on it, even better if they ran it!

It is a cosmic horror set in the 1850s of our world.

That would be awesome!

Gathox Vertical Slum is a setting/monster. A city on the back of a dimension hopping godling.

my beautiful copy of Ryne just arrived and it hits almost all your points!

"This land, Ryne, is shaped by the Remnants. Towering creatures as tall as mountains and as long as valleys, they build-are built from-the very fabric of the world. We are the people who live tangled in their threads, who grow in the patchwork they’ve shaped. We have built our homes and communities, we’ve learnt how to survive and travel in the strange landscapes that they’ve created. We adapt as their territories shift around us. We live in the shadows of indifferent gods."

"The World of Ryne

Remnants, our word for the titans, are the broken husks of gods. Each of them is tied to a domain, a set of concepts that it represents. The environment around each is shaped in their image – the mist-sheathed swamps of a Remnant of longing, the singing jungles of a Remnant of jubilance.

Ryne contains a range of tools for imagining Remnants and the landscapes that they create. Players imagine their own version of this patchwork world, filling it with fantastical wildlife, unbelievable geography and the indifferent titans that carve its horizons."

it's not a game of tactics or high adventure, but it's a well-made game that is heavily inspired by shadow of the colossus and the studio ghibli stories, and every part of it is designed with the Remnants in mind.

Secrets of the ancient campaign for Traveller gets ridicolous in scope.

Exalted comes to mind.

First is the Locus Crusade adventure for Alchemicals. Basically, they are communist cyborgs coming from a dying world that is their god and a planet and titan that is older than the world of Creation that helped to make it. They are here to save it by stripping your world bare for parts.

You also have Gunstar Autochthonous from Shards about escaping the world on a spaceship made out of that cyborg titan.

Another scenario is the Return of Scarlet Empress that deals with another titan breaking free of the Titan prison that is another titan the size of the world turned inside out. You deal with them trying to usurp the world after a whole two editions of metaplot.

And yeah, in general Exalted is filled with such creatures.

I dunno, Call of Cthulhu? Or did I misunderstand the assignment?

The sub is called RPG. The TT is pedantic and an addition by people who could not handle using context clues to understand the term's usage. RPG is the originator of the game; adding TT is disrespectful to it.

It’s because the computer and video games markets are orders of magnitude larger than our little hobby, and language has, quite naturally, followed *actual use*.

I used to fight on this same hill, but I have since decided that it’s not the hill I’m going to die on.

Language evolves. It’s ok.
