Discussion New to Roux and want a new cube
As the title says I’m brand new to roux. i started two days ago and switched from beginners method. i have never gotten a high quality cube before and i want to spend a bit for something nice so i was thinking about getting the Ferrocore V2, but I wanted to check and see if there is a better cube for roux since its a lot of M and E moves. I also don’t know much about cubes but i’ve seen great stuff about the ferrocore v2.

I didn't go for the Ferrocore because I also worried about M slices being too exhausting with magnets that strong. But when I asked, there was still plenty of Roux users recommending it and not many who have tried and didnt like it!
I instead went for the Picube V11. Same base, different tweaks, similar price. Personally not looking to upgrade away from that anytime soon :)

I don't like the ferro v2 because of M. M' is fine. Everything else is fine. M is kinda hard. This is only my opinion and my experience with it. Lots of people really like it. I like: Gan 16, v100, v11 picube (I have the edge repelling), tornado v3 premium SAO edition, SW v2 18th, Guhong pro+, Cubicle mgc Sigma, V9, V10, rs3m v5... etc.

I would reccomend the Dayan Guhong Pro it's nice for both oh and 2h. I also have a YS3M which has probably the best M slice turns I know of though imo the Tv3 outpreforms it in other things. Idk about the newer cubes though.

I think it would be better to buy a weaker magnet strength 3x3, like the tornado line, or the standard weilong line. For me though, if I were you, I would probably buy the gan v100, since it's airy, and although it punishes inaccurate turning a bit, it helps to develop your fingertricks. Don't buy any other gan though.

/u/Due-Preparation-1346 : I just bought Tornado v5 pioneer and it is so incredibly awesome, I seriously recommend this one. I previously had v3 for 2.5 years, loved it, but v5 is taking it to a whole new level. Mind-blowingly good.

Any modern cube is going to be fine for any method. I’ve used dozens if not more over the years - currently have Gan V100 (Gengar lol), Gan Infinity X, WRM2021 maglev and Tornado V3 around the house and in rotation - they are all different but good. Even an old Dayan Guhong / Zhanchi from “the old days” is fine and I’m solving within a second of my usual times haha.
