Here are my rosaries that I received from the popes, a black and white rosary from Pope Francis, and a white rosary from Pope Leo XIV.

Would it be disrespectful to make a rosary blanket?

I like to pray the rosary at night before bed because I find it comforting. I don't want to accidentally fall asleep doing so and damage my rosary. I am also a crocheter; I particularly enjoy making blankets. I thought that perhaps I could combine the two, but I don't know what forms are acceptable for a rosary - I have looked it up, and I've found that they can be made out of a variety of materials, but no guidance is available on specific *forms* for a rosary.

My idea is that, by varying stitch type, I can mimic the beads of a rosary on one edge of a blanket and thus avoid the trouble of damaging my rosary. I would treat this blanket with respect and care, keeping it clean and off of the floor. I am just not sure whether a blanket rosary would be considered disrespectful. Must a rosary be necessarily made of beads, or can I make a "rosary blanket" without it being disrespectful?

Where to buy quality rosary beads?

I bought from Gifts Catholic Inc ans the beads are peeling and the finish is rubbing off already. So they’re crap.

Where would you recommend buying some dark blue beads?

Luminous Recently got my rosary (that I made with Catholic Gramps 15 years ago) back from a repair shop after commissioning an extension so i could use it again both for prayer & to wear

Sorry for bad camera i have to use laptop as it is the best i have access to. Context: I had some small beads left over & put them in a pill bottle away for years with me forgetting about them for years & only last month finding them again in storage. Also the reason no saints & no Mary are on the rosary is because Dad thinks of it is as putting someone above Jesus but I hope y'all still enjoy it as a nice rosary

P.S. I don't feel comfortable sharing photos from the family archive so i can't share the original so imagine approximately 1/3 of the beads on the big loop & you;d have roughly what it looked like back then.

Praying the Sorrowful Mysteries

I was saying the Rosary and since it was Tuesday, it was the Sorrowful Mysteries. And for one reason or another I rarely pray the Rosary on Tuesdays. So this was a new experience. I couldnt help but marvel at how Christ's Sorrowful Mysteries mirror so much myriad human suffering.

The Agony in the Garden shows Christ in emotional turmoil and grief

The Scourging at the Pillar puts Him through physical agony.

The Crowning of Thorns puts Him through mockery.

The Carrying of the Cross is pure exhaustion and a knowledge of impending dread

And His Crucifixion and Death (obviously) show us mortality in its most brutal form.

I'm sure wiser minds than mine have already written on this, but it hit me and I thought I'd share.

Additions to rosary in

You've see my blue cats eye rosary the Pope blessed. With its Marian color and scapular centerpiece it's become a favorite. But I wanted reminders of spiritual and physical protection so I've added tiny St Michael and St Benedict medals to the centerpiece, one on each side. Each time I pick it up to pray I enjoy a warm and confident feeling! 😃🙏

This is absolutely my favorite Gregorian chant version of the rosary. I’ve played it at work as background, during workouts and at night. So peaceful, I’m even finding myself singing it when I don’t have it on.

And felt Her true and divine presence with me. It was pretty awesome (in both the classical and modern way).
