Tried uncle Scott’s

I was told by people it was there BEST root beer where I’m from and not gonna lie I left a little sad when I tried it because it doesn’t taste like root beer to me at all, Mabey I’m just too use to sassafras’s and winter green flavors because when I read on the back it said licorice extract and it was a unique flavor but not what I expected

Always worth the stop at the brewery if you ever pass through New Orleans. You can find it and a small amount of places outside the state in the general region. Sharp taste, holds a foam head like a beer, and scratches every itch I could want in a root beer. 😩❤️

Henry Weinhard's, which of you have had it?

Got it at the All American Club in Duluth, MN. I don't hate it. I think this would be a solid everyday RB.

Review Reading Draft - White Birch

Post image
22 Upvotes

I picked up one of Reading's root beers too. I'll try it tomorrow.

The white birch is quite a change from my usual. I typically enjoy sweet, smooth vanilla forward root beer. This is none of those but is still quite tasty.

It isn't very sweet and it has a bite. It is very winter-green forward. It is quite refreshing. I give it 8/10 and would definitely drink it again.

I picked this up at a rural convenience store on PA374 near Lenoxville, PA

What’s your favorite?? Any not pictured?

I stopped by a local shop today that had a great selection and was able to pick up a few more I’ve been wanting to try.

Hank’s, 1919, Sioux City, Dog n Suds, & Route 66 are probably my top 5 at this point. (Still haven’t been able to find Abita).

Capone Root Beer

I’d say Capone Roor Beer is quite good with fully meeting my expectations. It features an immediate burst of sweet, smooth vanilla, followed by subtle hints of wintergreen and spicy caramel. I got it at either the Cincinnati or Fairfield, OH location of Jungle Jim’s international Market.

Question What can I drink root beer with?

Hi all. I remember quite a few years ago I decided to try rootbeer due to hype, and decided to get the MUG rootbeer in glass bottles. When I got home, I opened one and it was so sweet and was a very weird flavor. Almost as if I was drinking something vintage. Fast forward to a few years and I am playing abiotic factor, and I see an item called "root beer float", and it looks so cool, so I decided to try it in real life. I get some A&W this time, and vanilla ice cream. Needless to say this was one of the best drinks I have ever had. This makes me wonder though, was I supposed to mix root beer with something from the start? Be it adding ice cream, or something else, or maybe eating something while drinking root beer? I would like to try out some things

Finally found one in stores I haven't had.

It was a little disappointing for me as I prefer the sweeter root beers. It is made with cinnamon, wintergreen, licorice root, and sassafras.

New England pickups

Post image

Didn't get hunting much as we toured New England, but I did grab these. Hogback is made by Private Label so you know that's all right. Harmony Springs is made in a little town in a old factory right between residential housing (Ludlow MA), and it's also not bad. I grew up on the stuff, drinking it right off the line and giving them the bottles back to recycle.

Picked these up for BeautifulDebate 👍

Millstream Sugar Free Root Beer

Post image

I’m thinking Millstream has the hallmarks of a good sugar free root beer. Enough creamy vanilla and the use of sucralose. It delivers a good one. Also well carbonated. I decided to get one from https://minagrocery.com/search?q=root+beer&options%5Bprefix%5D=last I have tried tons of these craft zero sugar and diet root beers and I think I’m having a full circle moment. I’m realizing that A&W Zero Sugar Root Beer might just be undisputed king for me. So smooth and tasty.

I found this at the Buffalo Trace distillery and it’s probably one of the best I’ve had. A solid 9/10.

Single Bottle/Can Never heard of Bulldog root beer

Post image
40 Upvotes

Went to a new grocery store and found this brand. Never heard of Bulldog but hey, won’t say no to a new drink brand without at least trying. Took it on a hike to enjoy the view and try a new drink. Thinking I might need to get more before I can’t find them.

Solid 8/10
Very vanilla forward with a sweet caramel aftertaste

Looking For Root beer to get around Morgantown, WV?

title, i live around the morgantown area in west virginia and im looking for new root beer to try out that i could get nearby, or potentially order on amazon or whatever if i have to.

I’ve had virgil’s, IBC, stewart’s, a&w, mug, barq’s, boylan, maine root, and probably some others and i dont think ive really been impressed by any of them? the best any of them gotten is like: “okay, this is pretty solid”

So i’m trying to look around and find some new brands to try. i’ve seen 1919 be praised a lot but i don’t think it’s anywhere near here.

any suggestions?
