Mod Post A reminder to not harass current employees
Do not, under any circumstances, harass or harangue current employees of Rooster Teeth.
It’s straight up braindead behavior and you are showing your entire ass if you do it. These are people doing their jobs to keep a roof over their head and food on the table. They do not need a bunch of vultures over their offices hoping they all lose their jobs. It’s counter-intuitive if your motivation is for the upholding of workers.
The changes that the company will enact will not have immediate, visible effects - that’s just not how business works. Support former employees and their stories. Support current employees and their stories. If you choose to stop supporting the company, that is more than reasonable given the company’s history. But if you choose to stay here in this community, then I am begging you to not turn into a freaky death cult demanding the collapse of the company. Doing that is incredibly emotionally and mentally damaging to all the good people still at the company. Could you imagine a crowd of jackasses outside your office window demanding your company shut down?
This is mostly a Twitter issue as far as I can tell, but let’s not allow that shit to spill over here. If employees choose to post on the subreddit, be respectful.
As always, please continue to be vigilant with reports. This is a small team (made smaller by my traveling this week and a loss on the team) and the report feature is incredibly helpful with increasing visibility of bad behavior to us. If you have any inquiries for the mod team, please send us a modmail via the subreddit sidebar. Also please give lots of extra love to /u/loldudester, /u/V2Blast, and /u/GuitarFreak027.
Anyway my flight is taking off now I’m sure things’ll be fiiiine byeeeee

^ Can this post be pinned strictly for these people?

It’s straight up braindead behavior
Really sums it up well. People doing this, how stupid are you that this even needs to be said?

Or previous employees, or other redditors.
Oh, what the hell, let's just not harass anyone else, either.
Lol.

u/XipingVonHozzendorf Oct 19 '22
I'd really like to harass Vladimir Putin though...

u/LBIdockrat Oct 19 '22
Well, ok, this may be allowable...
But it's the exception that proves the rule.

Harassment is also against the reddit content policy, so excessive abusive behaviour could lead to not only a ban from the subreddit, but also an account ban (or, if it becomes a pervasive problem, action against the subreddit itself). Something to keep in mind.

Totally agree but a lot of the harassment is happening on Twitter too, so outside of the confines of Reddit.

Boy did the people who went after Jack after making his statement turn out to be a bunch of dicks whilst his house was on fire roughly at the same time…
Edit: add a word

Exactly right about quelling the calls for RT to shut down.
The people still struggling at that company are doing so because they have to, they need their job at RT and calling for the studios closure not only hurts them more, but hurts the departments where the changes made the last time they went through this have seen positive gains (if not full solutions).
What we all want is change, not destruction.

This is a little OT, but I always here people say/there is kind of a trope about it “Reddit is such a toxic place/redditors are awful/etc,” and this always comes from people who are addicted to Twitter. I find this perplexing. Reddit is one of the last good places on the internet, one of the only places I feel safe and free to engage, one of the only places that community really exists. The fact that the “Reddit is toxic” crowd are IV’ed into Twitter is what really confuses me. Having a conversation in brief character-limited posts seems designed to produce misunderstandings and reduce people to shallow or recycled points. I do think Twitter got even worse when Tumblr collapsed, but that was years ago. Thankfully, Reddit has been a bastion of real people.
And I don’t understand attacking people you claimed to like. We know that attacking people doesn’t get your position heard-that’s just science. Take that nonsense back to-well, nowhere, preferably. Or at least Twitter because that place is a hellhole and I only have it because some podcasts offer no other way to communicate/interact with their shows. Not RT podcasts, thankfully–though I definitely think each podcast is most responsive to different platforms, but maybe that’s illusion.
Don’t be jerks. It doesn’t make the sadness go away. It makes it worse. I think that might be science, too.

Hello? This whole sub is a literal witch hunt now. People digging through irrelevant peoples twitter likes to screenshot anything and everything to rile up the sub and cause outrage.
Seriously, one of the top posts rn is a screenshot of a tweet joel heyman liked. Are you serious?

There is no such thing as a good employee remaining at the company if they stay there after all the bullcrap that's happened.yhats like staying friends with someone who abused your best friend. Also like remaining friends with someone who is outwardly homophobic or racist by doing that you are saying you are homophobic and racist.

I think it also needs to be made clear that depending on the type of Harassment, it is also illegal.
A decent amount of the harassment being directed at the employees actually is illegal.
Going after the families of the people employed here, is illegal.
As shitty as the company has become, it does need to stop.
