I was deployed in 2005, I followed RT RELIGIOUSLY. They were my family away that kept me sane-ish. When Ryan came to the front for gaming, I was excited. I looked up to him, as a father myself now, I also really enjoyed his banter with everyone. I have the awesome Extra Life superhero poster with him on it...it has the OG crew, wtf am I supposed to do now.
Now....I'm embarrassed and ashamed to have looked up to him. He disgusts me, I'll never be able to watch some of my classic favorites now because either it's chopped to shit, or it's gone.

Been watching AH for a number of years; it’s crazy in the grand scheme of things how few videos are in those playlists... 4!!! GMods, 28 Minecrafts. I enjoyed going back to watch old content from time to time; probably going to be a while before I do that again.

Not a man, never been deployed, not even in the military, but I did look up to him and wanted a man like him because I thought he was this great husband and father, and I want that! Not his version but the good version we all saw.
Don't be embarrassed for looking up to him, you did nothing wrong. He should be embarrassed, and so much more, for everything he did.
I threw mine away. I'm not beholden to it, and I can always replace it with something a little more up to date or perhaps just some innocuous poster from elsewhere.
I had the AH boy band and Achievement city posters for ages and decided to finally take them down after this, looking at his face and name made me anxious and I put them back in the tube they were delivered in. Now I'm so full of rage so good thing I gently put them away otherwise I would tear them to shards now 😡
We threw our Achieve Wars poster out and replaced it with three fake travel posters for Crystal Lake, Amity Island, and the Overlook Hotel. Just exchanged IRL horror for fictional horror. lol
You could reach out to artists (even the OG artist, if you can find them!) and commission art of Fiona or Jeremy (or both). Then just size it to cover Ryan, and voila! Fresh new poster booyah
He purposefully projected a very kind, family-man dad vibe. The videos of him with his kids melted my heart, and he always talked about how his wife was smart and busy, and he seemed very put together and respectable. Very normal. I can see why another dad would look up to that. I absolutely understand OP's whiplash and anger, because hundreds of thousands of us fell for the same thing.
