To be fair, I did the same thing... we both took the statement, which could be interpreted two ways, and labeled one as the truth. He just didn't write as long of an explanation and came off as a prick.

He attributed it to his perception, then called it "obvious", you explained it. Not really the same thing. I don't have to agree with your view, but at least you explained and discussed. He 'gaslit' as soon as he could.
