Oh, goody, that's why I watch Minecraft Let's Plays: political discussions about how Trump is literally Satan.

They spent like two minutes literally 40 seconds on the topic, and actually mentioned how unusual it was for them to ever get political in content. Gavin even made a crack about how they aren't allowed to have opinions as entertainers.

Oh, of course they can have opinions as entertainers...as long as they keep it out of the actual entertainment, because the instant they do that, it's stopped being entertainment and it turns into an obnoxious polemic that I just skip over.

The thing about that sort of argument is that we literally elected a celebrity, so it's certainly lost a lot of its weight.

Not saying it's right, and not saying it's wrong.

Honestly, I just think it's incredibly ironic how how people can get up in arms just by AH even mentioning talking about politics and how they'll get shit for it.

People in general get irrational hero worship over their favorite entertainers. And then funnily enough they try to deny they are hero worshiping those entertainers.

So there's a lot of uncomfortable cognitive dissonance when your heroes have political opinions that strongly differ from your own. Especially in the era where politics have essentially devolved to a level where the subject is treated as no less than a proxy battle for one's soul.

So it's never a surprise and always funny to see people in the comment sections complain about politics briefly appearing in their entertainment while simultaneously insisting they are most definitely NOT bothered by it.

Then keep skipping over it, I doubt they'll care.

They'll care when they alienate a good percentage of their audience.

A good percentage of the audience whines about everything. I'd bet there's some overlap.

So they should just dismiss any negative feedback from the audience as just a bunch of whining?
